Why does everyone have to have Matrix ripoffs?

I was watching a trailer for the Kung Pow movie. Near the end of the trailer it shows the main character fighting a cow. Then it shows the cow shooting streams of milk at the main character and he dodges it 'matrix-style' (see the trailer at the link I provided). Sure, the Matrix was a very cool movie and the rip-offs were funny at first, but almost three years have passed and people are still doing it. Not every movie or TV show has it, but it has been a little overdone. Is it just me or is anyone else tired of seeing a ton of matrix ripoffs?

Yes these ripoff's are lame ,still a laughed a bit with the preview ,but i'm sure the movie stinks.

edit: you edited youre primary spell check so i had to edit my comment on it

Personally I blame Goths for the proliferation of the leather trench-coat image, and all the other stuff...
Now movie makers and game designers think it is a big seller to rip the "Matrix" off...

The same crap happened with all the geek fanboys when "Reservoir Dogs" came out.

It's all too sad!

There is nothing wrong with wearing a leather trenchcoat, as long as it is black, and accompanied by a black leather slouch hat, a pair of pince-nez, severely slicked back hair, a pronounced limp, and a Germanic accent.
"It is I, Flick of the Gestapo!"

You have to admit it: who doesn't want to be a Matrix look-alike?

Uh, balding, thirty-something, 280 pound (um...130 kilos?) guys?

I like the Matrix ripoffs.

I think we all did at first, but the problem is that it's getting old. I guess they'll stop when the sequel comes out. Of course they'll have to ripoff that movie to death also.

What amazes me is that people rip off The Matrix when it was such a terrible movie in the first place...

Let me point out very clearly that there is a difference between Matrix and The Matrix!! At first the egocentrical me was thinking that Drekken was talking about me. And my guess is Pedro did too:

I am so touched. But in your case, I can imagine. :p

(Just kidding!! Are we still friends?)

Sigh*
Kung Pow isnt a rip-off of The Matrix ;)
Its a satire comedy.
Making fun of the movies.
You might have noticed the white bruce lee?

Thanx for pointing that out for me. I can't seem to change the title of the thread though. Oh well, most people caught on to what I was talking about anyways.

Ok, maybe rip-off wasn't the best word to use, but my point is that copying scenes from the The Matrix has been overdone. Kung Pow was what prompted me to finally say something.

i have a trenchcoat/raincoat. (ok its an oversized raincoat, with out the hood), i got from the opshop, its green, and it looks like a KGB style dude.

Well I like the movie. Also who has seen Shrek? The matrix rip off in that is quite funny, for a while...
I've seen it. That's was very funny!

Anyway, I also think the Matrix was a wonderful movie. What's wrong with it, Psychlone, CrayonX? It's a very good story and very good special effects.

What happened with me was that I just saw it for the first time two months ago. I had heard from everyone that it was an awesome movie etc etc, I guess it got kind of overhyped for me.
