Why is this connected to Civ3?

If you have an interest in it, why do you want to stop discussing it?
Interest in the fate of NESing, which actions stemming from this topic, were they to be undertaken, could potentially threaten, because they are ill-advised, ill-timed, and poorly supported.

Doing it because we'll lose draw eventually? OK, why not prepare for it instead, wait until that actually does happen, and do it then?

Doing it because we're somehow miscategorized? What does that matter for anything? It's not like this is some species we must place in the proper phylum.

Doing it because more people is automatically better? It isn't.

Basically this argument boils down to one-side saying we should move because there's no reason not to, and another side because there's no reason to. It's not an argument where you're just going to rally people up and convince them to do something, because there's no compelling reasons on either side. It's thus mostly pointless and academic, and really, there are much better things people could be doing which actually do benefit the community, like updating (not directed at anybody in particular :p) or writing stories or orders or something like that.

Ghosts of the past rise once more.

I remember there was already a rabid conversation about moving the forum a little while ago. As it turned out, pretty much nothing happened as of it. And what became of the forum since the disucssion? The same old- we've got one or two good players and a few nuts. Let the status quo work and let the issue die (and rest) in peace.

As a active member of the NESing community I agree with Symphony. No reason to risk a move at this time without long term planning. Why you might ask. Well moving now would confuse some people who might not have links to this sub forum and cause of to temporarily lose lurking newbies or some older members who might have been away for a while.

Once again I agree with Symph, do something productive instead of arguing. Go Update or something. I feel like the only mod left that actually updates. No offense to anyone.

and 60 sounds very generous to me...

As of Late July 2006, there were at least 67 (list is here). Though I haven't verified it, I'd guess 10+ more have shown up since then.

Or much involved at all.. i would suggest a number closer to 20 currently. NOT that the current NES's are understaffed.. but theres only really 4-6 up to date NESes

ok maybe exaggerating.. but defo not 60...

A quick, by no means exhaustive (I searched for everyone post in the NES forum in the last week with the word "orders" in it) search turned up 47 results. And these are just the particularly active people. There are easily 10-15 more who participate sporadically.

To be fair to everybody, I'm a complete no0b, so yeah :P

But, hey, does the number of people really matter that much? Quality, am I right?

Have I ever mentioned that I love Carmen? Makes me laugh :).

Anywho, as alot of modders know, we have plenty of people.
