Wiz03|Quick waiter

Yeah. Although I think it would be clever to destroy all but one of the rivals, then build lots of settlers and get that land.

OK, got the game

Well, that was fun...

Inherited turn (250 BC): Shanghai sw -> sw.
L'Orléans Resistance has ended.

IBT: Beijing sword -> sword.
Canton spear -> sword.

2 (210 BC): Now that is the weirdest thing! Hsung-Nu encampment in the middle of civilization! Minor annoyance as I had workers next to it, but they were moved out of danger. Swordsman goes to wipe them out. 1 jungle tile cleared. Spearman from Canton sent to Orleans.

IBT: Beijing riots (I can never remember that!) Beijing now has a clown, and starts to build temple instead of swordsman.

Short battle :)

7 (110 BC): 4 sword and 1 horse reaches Lyons. Attack time!

IBT: Beijing Temple -> sword.

8 (90 BC): Elite horse kills reg spear 3-3 at Lyons.

IBT: Nanking sword -> settler.

9 (70 BC): Elite horse retreats.
Vet sword is killed by reg spear 1-4 at Lyons. Reg spear promoted.
Vet sword kills vet spear (3) 3-2 at Lyons. Vet sword promoted.
Spearman reaches Orleans and is fortified, thus a horseman is released for Marseilles fight.

10 (50 BC): Battle of Marseilles.
Vet horse (3) is killed by reg spear 2-3.
Vet horse retreats from reg spear 0-3.
Vet horse kills reg spear 3-2, and is promoted.
Elite sword kills reg archer 3-0.
Vet sword kills reg spear (1) 1-0. That's it. Marseilles done and dusted.

3 French cities left. 1 American. You have to get through American territory to get to the last two French.

This is the easiest game I ever played :)

Hmm... I 'm up, right? I'll take the turns tomorrow, it's fairly late now...

Looks good, BTW. :goodjob:

So here's my turnlog:

Preturn (50BC): Ah, nice to get playing this again. :) Let's see... You guys have really done well in the wars. :goodjob: I'll easily get rid of Joan and Abe. Press enter.

IBT: We lose our supply of furs!

Beijing sword > sword
Tsingtao worker > settler

30BC: Assign workers. Hmm... I decide to get rid of Abe, he is no use and is in the way to the two French cities.

IBT: Gandhi wants RoP, I refuse.

Canton sword > settler

10BC: Move troops to Tours and Boston, I'll attack in 2 turns time at full power, and they'll be no match for our massive sword armies! :nya:

IBT: Indian troops (?) attack Tours, only getting 1 hp off the spear and promotes.

10AD: Now almost all of our troops are near the two cities. I attack.

Siege of Boston:
Vet sword kills reg spear, -1hp.
Elite sword kills reg spear, -1hp, takes the city! :D We even get a worker.
So Abe no more excists. So now to the French cities!

Siege of Tours:
Vet sword kills vet spear, -2hp.
Vet sword is killed by reg spear, takes 1 hp off.
Vet sword kills reg spear, -1hp, takes the city and 1 worker. :)

IBT: Washington settler > settler. Now we need the land needed to win domination.
Beijing sword > spear. To defend the new cities.
Shanghai sword > settler.

30AD: Realise there is a French galley near Beijing.
Elite horse retreats from spear near Chartres. Elite horse kills spear near Chartres. Move more troops ready for an assault against the second last city of the French.

IBT: Nanking settler > another.

50AD: Move a SoD of numerous swords onto a tile near Chartres. Next turn I'll attack, and the spear(s) there shall taste some chinese sword!

IBT: Beijing spear > sword.

70AD: Trying to build cities so our cultural border cuts the Indian settlers off the main continent. Build Chengdu.

Siege of Chartres:
Elite sword kills reg spear, -2hp.
Vet sword kills reg spear, -3hp. Takes the city, but no worker.

IBT: Ganghi would want MA against the French, I refuse, as he would have wanted horses. The French land a sword near Canton, and it's empty... Luckily I had a spear coming down there just in case that happened.

90AD:

IBT: Ah, our spear in anton wins against the French sword, but is taken to 1 hp.

Beijing sword > another.
Shanghai settler > spear.
Yay! We get a palace expansion.

110AD: Build Hangchow.

Vet horse retreats from reg spear in Rheims, elite is killed. :(

IBT: NY settler > another.

130AD: Build Tientsin. Elite horse is killed by reg spear in Rheims. Whoa! A mistek move, I attacked a 3- hp reg spear in Rheims with a 1- hp horse, we won! :D

IBT: Beijing sword > sword.

150AD:

Siege of Rheims:
Vet sword kills 2- hp reg spear and takes the city. No more France, either. I accomplished my own goal and destroyed them on my last turn.

Summary: We now have only India rivalling us, and our land are a is quite nice and big, although we still need a lot of area.

Hmm... The server refuses to upload my save, it disconnects... I'll post the save when I get it uploaded.

You're a bit too lucky, mate (3-0 win of reg spear...) never mind, you did the job nicely :goodjob:

Now, we just have to build up about 10, 15 more swordsmen, and attack India - who will have the honour of doing that?

Smellin, could you please check the situation with Mapstat again, I'd like to know our area and how much is needed. :)

Aye aye:

By the way, India only has 100 tiles total. (Checked India's mapstat, too.)

Ok, so we would only need to get all the land India doesn't have. I see our population isn't very far from the limit, it's easy to reach. I guess there is another island somewhere, because we already have quite a bit of area on our own continent... Now we need more cities and temples in the cities that have a small gap in cultural borders. Like Shanghai, it should get a temple ASAP.

Who's up? (I'm skipped)

Think Bede's up, at least according to the first page rota.

Got it.

Will play tonight, Wednesday the 3rd, unless otherwise instructed.

Hire beakerhead at Beijing. Stall pop growth and pull garrison sword to Shanghai Sword Regiment building for taking Karachi.
Set lux at 0 and sci at 0.
Note that frontier towns are undefended.
Trade Gandhi 110g for Currency hoping to improve his attitude a little. At current commerce rate will get it back in ~3turns.

Decide on course of action:
1) Garrison frontier towns with units from core and protect workers from potential Indian aggression
2) Assemble Task Force India west of Lahore
3) Assemble Shanghai Swords for move on Karachi
4) Assemble Indian ExForce on iron mountain north of Tsingtao between Calcutta and Bombay
5) Use infrastucture builds as prebuilds for settlers in Central China towns
6) Declare war on India and take down Bombay, Lahore and Calcutta.

After much prayerful meditation press enter.

India has settler spear pair moving west from Calcutta. Canton produces settler and starts on galley for ferrying troops and settlers to site of Bombay

First hundred years (T1-T3) proceed uneventfully. India moves forces out of Lahore towards NW Territory and TFI manuevers to force retreat of settler spear pairs emanating from Jaipur and Calcutta. Our cultural borders expand and Calcutta, Bombay and Jaipur are hemmed in. Settler and spear move from Nanking to Indian border to be ready when Bombay falls to found new city. India manages to found Jaipur west of Lahore on silks and with stud farm in borders. We found Tatung on hill between Chartres and Tsingtao and start library as prebuild for settler.

In 250AD (T4) TFI completes at Boston. IEF is nearly at full complement in north. Shanghai Swords complete at Karachi border. Frontier garrisons are complete. An Indian settler/spear pair is spotted moving out of Jaipur to south.

The hawk is ready to stoop, so Bede sends his troops into attack position against Jaipur, Karachi and Bombay and declares war.

After declaration of war Ghandhi attacks IEF with lone horse. Horse is redlined and retreats and our casualties are minimal. A horse out of Jaipur attacks settler/spear pair moving west into jungle. Horse retreats in disarray; our spear suffers casualties but survives.

In 260AD the garrison at Boston attacks Indian archer pair wandering in the west and takes one archer out. Sword from Chartres moves to cover. Horse at Boston moves into position to attack remaining archer. Task Force India is victorious at Jaipur suffering neglible casualties, burns Jaipur and moves on towards Lahore. Our settler founds Macao west of Tientsin and starts to build spear.

In the north the IEF attacks Bombay and burns it to the ground. The waiting galley unloads settler and spear on estuary NE of ashes and captured slaves start roading towards Nanking. Meanwhile a militia warior attached to the IEF attacks the redlined horseman next to Calcutta, enjoys victory and promotion to vet.

SSR does not fare so well in the attack on Karachi. It suffers heavy casualties and remaining spearman in Karachi promotes to Elite. Regiment is down to one hurting sword, one healthy sword and one healthy spear.

In the west Indian troops mill about in confusion while a lone Indian archer attacks the swords partying in the ashes of Bombay. Annoyed at being interrupted in their orgiastic celebration the swords chew him up.

In 270AD(T6)Karachi falls to sword attack and is garrisoned. The horse man in the NW territory takes out the Indian Archer. Orleans switches production to a settler. Anyang is founded on estuary north of Nanking while the veteran warrior at Calcutta goes on a rampage, tearing up roads and irrigation systems.

Meanwhile, India archer attacks garrison sword at Tientsin and suffers heavy casualties, but kills our sword. The Indian Spear and settler heading south turn back north towards the smouldering ruins of Jaipur.

In 280AD(T7) TFI moves into postion at the gates of Lahore and one sword detaches to lie in wait for Indian spear and settler. Detached unit takes out spear and captures two slaves sent to road at Macao. Xinjian switches production to settler. Cultural expansion no longer needed and settler will build new city on site of Lahore.

The Indian archer in the jungle west of Tientsin attacks and dies.

In 290AD (T8) IEF assembles on iron mountain for the assault on Calcutta. TFI attacks Lahore, razes it but suffers the loss of two sword companies to a determined defense by a single spearman.

In 300AD (T9) TFI reorganizes on horse hill west of Calcutta and IEF completes on iron mountain.

In 310AD (T10) TFI rest and re-equips for assault on Calcutta and the IEF moves to the gates of Calcutta from the east. Various settlers move to fill gaps in territory.
