In the UK, girls outperform boys at every age from 5 through to graduate level. More pass. More get the highest grades. They are better at doing the things needed to succeed in our education system. They are better organised, work harder and take failure personally and do something about it rather than blame something else. My college has 55% girls and 45% boys because too many 15 year old boys dont get good enough grades to get there. The boys' ambitions are more limited and they generally are unable to see that medium term gain will outweigh short term inconvenience.
In my book, that makes them smarter.
