Women in the infantry ?

So who was that 120 kg Timorese bloke ?
I have been to East Timor and there was no Timorese who even got close to that size.
I'm 6' 3'' 120 kg and I towered over all the Timorese.
Are you trying to say 120 LB ?
Oh, what size is Donna ? height, weight ?
Don't know why you quoted me twice, but here goes.

I meant to 100Kg. Don't know how I got that 2 in there. Great big fat bloke, lived in Australia for a long time. Probably why he's so damn fat. His name was Brian something, I think he was born over here. I've met him twice.

Donna's about 5"10'. Not sure of her weight, but it's lighter than her brother, who's well over 100kg now. Probably about what I was when I was wrestling, which is 85kg.

Kevin mentioned to me several women he served with in the SAS in Iraq. Maybe they were on loan from somewhere else, I don't know. All I know is that there were women involved in several of the missions he conducted.

@Patroklos: If they made it, they'd be reaching the same standards. And surely you've seen women with great upper-body strength. Not as many as men, their bodies are different, but there are women with tremendous upper-body strength.

You don't dictate policy through exceptions. And we also drug test regularly ;)

WHAT?!

What does that mean? If you don't dictate policy through exceptions, then you should not exempt women from the infantry if they are capable of reaching the necessary standards. And what the hell have drugs to do with anything?

Since American women apparently are more small-soft-and-cuddly-female than women anywhere else, the only way they can achieve impressive upper body strength is through extra steroids.

Only way to explain physical strength in American women, dontcha' know.:mischief:

Ahhh, now I understand.

I have said just this TWENTY FREAKING TIMES!!! RTFT!

Women are build differently, it is simple nature. Some outliers may have increased upper body strenght, but to achieve anything approaching the average upper body strength of infantry qualified males usually requires olympian work out schedules or drugs.

And you made absolutely no sense all twenty of them, because your arguments are nothing but chauvinist unrealisitc bs. But that's okay, your army is longer.

How is requiring that women meet the same standards as men chauvinist? You realize I am not against women i the infantry, right?

You know, you should at least make an effort to disguise the fact that you didn't read the thread. It would really help you to avoid swallowing your foot.

Actually, I have read the whole thread. I just somehow got some of your posts mixed up with Chazumi. Don't know how I managed that, but a quick check revealed that you said nothing about "evolution putting women in the kitchen."

You still made some incredibly idiotic arguments about the Danish military though. Yes, it's small. Size doesn't have anything to do with quality.

But equipment and training do.

No, I most certainly didn't. Of course you have know way of knowing that anyway, seeing as our Dane didn't provide anys sources.

He did however, point out the massive holes in your sources. Listen, I don't want to get into an argument with you, but suffice it to say you two got into a pissing match, and while you were intent on pissing over the top of the wall, he was actually concerned with hitting his target. In other words, he made sense without sounding like a biased tool, you didn't.

No, he didn't. He didn't even know his Merlin order was only half filled and that his army was replacing its Eagle Is with Eagle IVs, he didn't know CTF 150 was not a NATO command, and he was oblivious to the simple realites of what having a 25% conscription army means to training/experiance. Actually, the arguement was an all out route.

In other words, he made sense without sounding like a biased tool, you didn't.

Insisting you are right when you have been factually proven wrong is being a biased tool, which not not only includes him but also you.

actually, it wasn't.

As far as I see he never said anything about Eagle IV, he just said that they got the Eagle I...which is true. and IIRC, you didn't know anything about their Eagles until he mentioned them to you, right?

What I take from this thread is that if I want specifics on the US army, I'll listen to Patroklos. About everyone elses' armies, and in comparison to the US, perhaps not.:)

Funny, I seem to think that's what you were coming off as. And so apparently, do others. I don't know anything about the Danish military, but I'm inclined to believe someone who is in the Danish military, and who makes coherent arguments, than someon who repeatedly points to a wiki entry even after he's been told it's mistaken, which they often are.

I served as a infantry Sargeant, the statements by the Danish bloke make no sense.
He states that their women are held to the same physical standards, then states they serve as APC commanders because they are not as good at the physical stuff.
So he is stating when the terrain is too rugged for APCs the women are not expected to do the same as the men.

I will change my mind about women going out on a ten day foot patrol with all that they need on their backs when I see it happen.
So a question, do those female APC crew pass the male physical test, including pullups ?
