Won't you sin in Heaven?

Um ... why?

Why won't people rebel - yet again? It seems that a lot of individuals who knew God really well, tended to rebel.

Our nearest comparison to heaven is Eden. There the only rule was don't eat from the tree. So it would make sense that the only rule in heaven is something like: "Once you leave you can't come back in". I'm not sure if that will be relevant though. We left Eden because we wanted to see what the alternative was, we wanted knowledge. We've now seen the alternative and got the knowledge, now heaven will be full of the people who still choose to be there. Why would we want to leave this time?

Because God will not tolerate sin to be in his presence.

Now whether that means:

a. You wont be able to sin...i.e. you just simply cant.
b. You wont want to sin.....too busy doing other things for all eternity.
c. What was sin in the world, wont be sin in heaven.....ie...you can get away with it here.
or
d. If you sin in heaven you are shown the door......ie...Lucifers ballistic trajectory and impact.

is all unclear.

But one thing is for certain. God will not allow sin to be in his presence. Period.

Historically, d: seems to be the most common choice!

Only if you assume the angels and us are under the same rules. This is unknown. Human souls may be a totally different issue when compared to angels.

Since you can think sinfully, I would suppose this equates to a freewillectomy. :suicide:
b. You wont want to sin.....too busy doing other things for all eternity.

And this sounds like summer camp. :yuck: Is being too busy to have sex really fun over the long term?

Now we're getting somewhere...

d. If you sin in heaven you are shown the door......ie...Lucifers ballistic trajectory and impact.

Given how readily one can sin, I'd think heaven would quickly become a lonely place - after all, there's not one non-sinner amongst six billion souls here on Earth, and some of the souls are trying really hard not to sin.

But one thing is for certain. God will not allow sin to be in his presence. Period.

Don't suppose you have a cite for that? ;)

True if you assume that free will results in sinful thinking. I think you can have free will and NOT think sinfully...its hard, but you can do it right now if you trained at it and got the discipline to do it. Perhaps its just so nice there you cant contemplate sinful thought but still have free will to enjoy eternity.

Oh, being 42 and past most of my hormonal urges, I can readily say that there are some things more fun than having sex....not many...but some. I can only anticipate that number will increase the older I get.

Don't suppose you have a cite for that? ;)

Mentioned in various places in the bible. The wages of sin are death and he will turn his face from those that sin are a couple that come to mind. I encourage you to read your bible and find it yourself!:)

If you find total bliss, complete happiness and total fulfillment boring, then maybe so. I very much doubt that I'll lack for things to do, however. Even excluding the whole "worshipping God" thing, which is after all the reason we're there, I doubt it. With all the billions of people to meet, all the music to listen to, art to see, books to read, I think I'll have plenty to do.

How can Heaven be so heavenly without free will?

Ugh. I would rather cease to exist than have my free will removed.

I don't like the idea of permanent immortality anyway.

No free will on Earth and none in heaven, Christianity just gets better and better.;)

Basically what would constitute a sin in heaven? You stole from someone? They simply make there own reality so that they have a new one(stealing pointless anyway) you kill someone nope, can't 'salready dead, you lie about someone, and it's not true, you can ask God if someones lying or he may well tell you. Think of any sin it's only meaningfull in terms of life, in terms of eternal life it's all fairly pointless. No sin because nothing can do harm so give it a go, you can do whatever you want but it wont hurt anyone or anything at all.

How about a convincing illusion of free will :)

Heaven is The Matrix, now that would rule :)

Also the Bible has already bestowed that on the people who worship God. If he exists that's precisely what you have and the worst part is you can't take any pill blue or red your screwed :)

What was that film with Robin Williams were you had whatever reality and whatever you wanted in heaven, in heaven nothing and no knowledge is denied you, what want for sin, if you have it all already. It's only really possible to suffer too with a mortal body so no depression misery or anything just bliss 24/7.

Kinda like living with your parents as an adult. I bet that would seriously compromise your "free will".

I hardly think the "its ok since it doesnt hurt anyone" approach dictates what is a sin and what isnt.

I believe it was "In Dreams". It wasnt just about bliss 24/7...the movie itself was quite depressing actually.

Why cant you sin in heaven if heaven is perfect and blissful?

Cant god just make it so your sins dont hurt anyone?

Like why cant i murder people that dont exist or have emotions in heaven for instance?
