Today's Wordle took 3 words, but it took me 17 words and _many_ takebacks to force Absurdle into choosing the same word. Way too many times I realized I'd eliminated one of the letters early on and had to go back to near the beginning.

Wordle took 5 tries today, as it took two tries to get the middle letter. However, it only took 13 words to force Absurdle to the same word, and I didn't need any takebacks.

Just tried this after your suggestion, and I did make out a word by guessing after how English structures its words (which is admittedly futile most of the time) and had to look up what it meant. I think this is harder than Wordle.

I've been playing that one for a bit and only run into a few words I was unfamiliar with, but the first few times I played it I'd frequently finding myself bewildered either "Wait, that word isn't dirty enough?" Or "Wait, that word is dirty enough?" Or "Does this have some obscure dirty meaning I've never heard of before?"

My first two reactions have been less common since they greatly expanded their words list around a week ago, though.

I think it's a lot harder, just because you can't just plug in every word. Finding only that part of my vocabulary that is applicable is the hard part.

Difficulty does seem widely variable and/or relative to the individual solver.

After yesterday's took me 6 guesses (should have been 5, but my brain for some reason decided that "RONIN" would be a better guess than the actual solution!), I got today's in only three.

Eliminating 4/5 vowels and a lot of common consonants

Me, too.

4 tries today, and then 16 in absurdle. I needed some takebacks, but no long ones. I think I've gotten the hang of it, more or less.
