No, let somebody else do it.

I don't find pleasure or satisfaction in executing or killing others.

I voted yes for the criminal option and I knew for certain they were guilty. I would include some murderers, child rapists, and drunk drivers causing death in the categories of people I would happily eradicate form the face of this earth.

Never kill people. What would the difference between you killing him and him killing someone else. oh "but it's my job"; imagine if a child rapist and murderer entered that as his defence.

I would do it. But only if they deserved it (no polictical prisoners)

Its not there job. For an executioner it is his job

For people like Tookie Williams or Moussoui, I would pay money to flip the switch.

But what about stabbing him to death? Shooting him in the heart? Or other less vicarious methods? Would you be up for that?

Few people are. Even fewer of those that say they would actually can.

They killed someone innocent where they have been tried and convicted. I wouldn't kill someome for murder but if it was particuly brutal, involved rape or the victem was a child and the was absolutly no dispute the perp was guilty I would do it.

In my experience, its one thing to say, "sure I would do it" and completely another to face the cold, hard, reality of it. Most kids (and a lot of men) who say they would would probably freeze up at the point of impact.

Its one thing to say it.....but to do it? Thats a line a lot of people wont cross.

It would depend for me. I could pull a switch or fire a gun but I wouldn't want to use a knife for example.

I could, but I wouldn't due to moral objections.

Where in the poll is anything about fair trial:mad:?

Yes, shooting, beaheading, breaking in wheel, quatering... to rapists and other scum I would do that more than gladly.

If it was my job. I don't know if they still do this, but if you just have to shoot your gun once, and there is about 7 shooters, one gun is a blank. Its at random. Its put there so the persons killing the death awaitee may actually not be doing anything, helps them cope with it.

So, is the firing squad a way to cope with the moral issues? I am sure that is the purpose. Since there are others who also shooted, maybe your shoot wasn't the killer one.

I keep hearing an urban legend that half the men in a firing squad have their guns loaded with blanks, for the same reason.

Sorry :)

The first option, "Yes, in any case" also includes not fair trials, obviously.
You can take the second option, "Yes, but not political prisoners" as if were a "yes, but only if the trial is fair", since I don't think political prisoners can be sentenced to death fairly.
