Nope - that's just Pastor Jones "negotiating" with someone without any say in whether the community center is going to be built and then making an announcement based on such nonsense.

The news made the announcement, not Jones! From what the article said it was a Quid pro quo type of deal. One side is lieing about this. So they are meeting in New York Saturday.

Jones said he is putting off the burning of the Korans. Jones says they lied to him. In any case they have to bring closure to this it's getting ridiculous. Hopefully on Saturday they come to an agreement to move the mosque. Otherwise he is going to burn the books, and all hell is going to break loose. However, he did not say he would burn them on Saturday, only that he would know when the time was right to do it.

"Jones said Musri "clearly, clearly lied to us." This Musri whoever he is is playing with fire. This is going to cause alot of bloodshed, if they are not careful. Unbelievable!

If Muslims start murdering Americans over this, then we would have to retaliate. It would not be pretty. Allah and God better start kissing each others you know what!

I've been seeing pictures of American flags burning all week in the newspapers. US President says nothing. The symbol of a free country is apparently worthless compared to the symbol of an oppressive religion.

So now the mosque-builders have double-crossed him - we're back to the familiar "you will submit to Islam" mentality. Only men like Jones understand the true nature of the intolerance we are up against. I hope he carries through his protest on behalf of all the free people of the World, especially those living under the nightmare of Islamic dictatorships in the Middle East.

That goes without saying. I've never seen a Christian pastor with one, much less two, range targets hanging in his office. Does he actually think all Muslim clerics are linked telepathically, and that they all speak for each other? Does he think some other pastor could have negotiated to not burn the Qu'rans for him?

And it's now pretty obvious the two stories are indeed related. I seriously doubt he would have started this nonsense if it had not been for all the publicity from the WTC mosque. He thought he was going to create another groundswell against Islam instead of being labelled a nut.

Personally, I'd like to see the Quran burning to go ahead. The only way to eliminate bigotry like this is to confront it directly.

We should simply settle on another compromise then - we will burn one Koran for every American flag that gets burned.

These guys in Iran and Pakistan are not taking offence, because they dish it out all the time. It is all about dominance - dishing out offence when they feel like burning our symbols, then claiming offence [but really engaging in massive intimidation] when its the other way around. It's just a way of intimidating and silencing people.

No-one can complain about the mosque, because it is irrational to take offence. That was the mantra repeated over and over by everyone defending the mosque.

Now suddenly from the President and in the media it's - "let's not cause offence". Let's back down as fast as we can in case some people get offended.

What's the difference? Simple - white Americans can be offended, they won't suicide bomb you. But Islam uses intimidation to silence people. No prizes for guessing which one is working. Not only that, but all the champions of "freedom" and "free speech" and "tolerance" are defending the violent side that uses intimidation to eliminate all criticism.

This is an Orwellian totalitarian joke at its finest.

Me too, and we are supposed to put up with that. Today they are burning flags because of this churches threat to burn Korans. None were burnt, yet we have to see all over the news. US flag burned, as if it means nothing. Today, I am ashamed at my own American countrymen, not one person except for you today stuck up for that flag. A real war is going to break out, and it is going to be very bloody. And it is going to go on here amongst us, not just in other areas of the world. We do not have to go far to find enemies, many are right here under our noses.
