I restarted my notebook and tried again and now it works. Compile.pl worked and generated a .dll file in the assets folder. and I find it strange/interesting because I didn't delete the temp_files folder on this last attempt, before restarting the notebook, and then I tried it and it worked. I tested the new_hope MOD and it's OK.

perhaps something was installed that required a reboot of the computer before it worked correctly. I only have this explanation.
Yeah let's assume that, through I don't quite know what it could be. What it is doesn't really matter as now we know turning it off and on again will once again fix the computer problem.

In the FF Louis Jolliet it says, "+100% chance of unique events (goody huts land)" - so this effect of this FF increases the frequency with which a positive event occurs in the goody when explored, isn't it? only positive events
ones? what can i gain from it (treasury, units, gold, trigger mission...)? In the case of titles, does this FF only increase the number of times I will win titles or will titles also have greater value?

- Another thing I wanted to ask but this time more generally in MOD WTP when I send my seasoned scout to talk to the chief of a tribe, and he gives me a gift in gold (example: gift in gold ranges from 200 to 300gold) if I have a great diplomatic relationship then would I earn more gold from that same tribe leader (example: gift of 300 to 400 gold)?

"+100% chance of unique events (goody huts land)"
There are like 20 Unique Goody Events in WTP 4.0 that can be triggered ONLY ONCE in a game.
"Fountain of Youth", "El Dorado", "7 Cities of Cibola", "Conquistador Treasure", ...

So this father simply doubles the chances of getting one of those instead of a regular one.
It really does exactly what it says: It is related to the "Unique Goodies".

------

So if you have him your chances to find e.g. "Fountain of Youth" are twice as high.

-------

There is one FF that increases these chances for the about 12 Unique Land Goodies.
There is another FF that increases these chances for the about 8 Unique Water Goodies.

No, the Gold you get when talking to Chieftains is not affected by their Attitude towards you.
Some Native Leaders / Native Nations are however balanced to be a bit more generous than others.

Is there a description anywhere of how happiness works? And health I guess, but happiness seems harder to figure out.

Simply do a "Mouse Over" the Happiness / Unhappiness Icons in City Screen -> They explain everything that is going on. :)

Thank you so much. I am so stupid. I had found the "Happiness causes these effects" mouseover, but missed the actual "These pluses, these minuses" mouseovers.

Apologies for a noob question but what (apart from being within 3 plots of an existing European settlement) might cause it to be impossible to found a settlement?

I can't seem to found any settlement after the first.

Colonies are founded by units with the settler profession. It requires 30 food and lumber as well as 20 horses and tools. It might be easy to overlook this profession if you don't have those ready.

Thanks for that. Brilliant mod by the way, especially the way the sea comes alive.

Hello everyone!
First and most important thing - My sincere admiration and huge thank you to entire community working on this mod, for the legendary game of Colonization!
I have been playing Colonization ever since it came on 3 floppy disk drives as a present, if I can remember correctly :) I've played a 'new' version for not a lot of time and only touched on RnR mod, must be more than 6-7 years ago now. Only to discover a few days ago this vibrant community and again - a fantastic mod!
Of course I rushed to install Col and mod right away and just wanted to ask a couple of quick things, I hope that'll be fine - My installation is 'vanilla' Col with 1.01f patch -
I see a message when We The People loads, with Restart required - even though I do quit/re-load the game right after this msg it keeps on popping up. Is this something of concern for a regular performance for the mod?

- I did read that MapScripts are still not fully compatible and working properly, so just so I make myself clear - does playing regular Maps (so I'd have all the resources/terrain/features properly loaded) means they are pre-set maps? I mean, does the Map itself always look the same and have always the same amount and placement of resources and terrain configuration, settlements location, etc?
- Lastly, moving forward with the new editions of the Mod, is it just safe to override the files when installing the new versions, which I did - I got 4.0 initially a week ago and only last night put 4.0.1 on by overriding all the install files. Just wanna make sure this process is safe and won't break anything. Is there a way to verify/see somewhere the actual We The People version running?

Thank you in advance for the support, and once again - truly amazing work, thank you!

This is part of the logic that the mod should execute.
It just informs the player about it. It is not a bug, but wanted behaviour.

it keeps on popping up.
Did you install in "My Documents" ? Because the install instructions explicitly say NOT to do it.
If you did, this message will pop up each time until you install correctly as we described in the install instrucitons.

Only the shapes and terrains are preset in Maps, Goodies, Bonus Ressources and Terrain Features get regenerated each time.
But we will soon also finish the MapScript completely - just not jet done.

No, NEVER EVER do something like that. Delete the old folder and create a new one from the new version
Otherwise you risk serious issues ! (You may call the new folder the same though as the one you deleted.)

Thank you in advance for the support, ...
No problem. Please follow the instructions provided though word by word.
Do not mess around with other approaches that you think "might" work.

... truly amazing work, thank you!
Thanks for the nice feedback. :)
And you are welcome.

Hi @raystuttgart - Thank you for your prompt response!
No, I did NOT install it in My Documents, installed it by creating "Mods" folder in the Col4 folder, as bellow? Could there be an issue that I created also "We The People" folder?

Thanks also for confirming on the process of installation, I'll try to re-install 4.0.1 now by deleting this folder and re-running the install.

Hi guys!

Recently registered, although I've been following the forum from time to time for years.
I played a bit of each of your Mods: TAC, RaR and WTP.
Now wanting to play the recently released WTP New Hope.

I have problems with the shortcut. I think I followed all the steps correctly:

1. In Steam change the version.
2. The Mods folder is in the game path (it's on another drive).
3. Copy the dll files.
4. Create the shortcut with the name of the Mod

But when I enter through the shortcut the game doesn't go directly to the Mod but to Vanilla.

Is this how it should work, or should It go directly to the Mod?

make a screen as you completed step 4
The mod should start right away.
and I did not understand the clarification in step 2 - (it's on another drive).

For the record, same issue as Montaraz.

The URL for my shortcut is "steam://rungameid/16810/Mod="We The People"" and the shortcut still loads to the main game. I can obviously get to the mod through that, and it works fine, I just still have to take that extra step.

A newbie query as I am new to wtp 4.0. The Ship Wrecks and the ancient ruins that are located on mountains how can they be taken or how can they be accessed? Thank you

use your ships to learn Ship Wrecks. use scouts to explore ancient ruins.

undo all changes made to the shortcut. After that, right-click on the game in Steam and select Properties. Click on the Set launch options button and in the line that appears, write the following: "mod=\mod folder name" (including quotes). I translate titles from Russian into English, but I think you will understand.
