I have not upgraded since.
Then you should really do so. :)
We had 2 bugfix releases already.

Here is the latest version.
It is savegame compatible.

In the Release Notes you will always see which version you have.
Just look into the installation directory of the mod.

Reposting this as it got lost in the shuffle
MapSize Gigantic is what we balanced for - especially with all the new Terrains.
Gamespeed is simply a matter of personal prefernce - all of them work.

Is Gigantic really 215x110 in size??? Will the AIs expand more than in the previous version of WTP? I still see iTargetNumCities set to 8, unless I misunderstand, it means the AI won't expand beyond this number.

Edit and question (2): I edited through the World Builder the initial ships, deleting some and creating new ones in a different place (say Russian to the north and on the west side of the map), but the original ships keep returning back, even at turn 2 or 3! I delete them, run a turn, and you can be sure they are still back! This is very weird (and annoying as I can't set up as I wish my game)

How do you use the Expert Trader? I sent him to a native village and there was no extra order?
You have to have the expert trader unit as a native trader profession. This needs trade goods in a city. You should then get an extra button when the unit is in a native village that does not have a trade mission.

Hello Vorpal+5,

I don't know what this parameter is for (for this I would have to take a look into the source code),
but in my last game on gigantic several nations had over 20 cities ...

When a native civilization comes to you with a trade proposition, like "Do you want 100 furs for 400 gold?", does accepting these raise your relations with them and rejecting them decrease your relations with them?
The same question for when your king comes to you with, "Do you want to buy these petty criminals or slaves for X gold?"

Someone else that have had the same problem like me that two icons is replaced with a "?" instead of stronghold and freedom under the City name after the new version of WTP?

I got some good instructions from Ray and Nightingale, but even after some reinstalls I haven´t managed to solve the this luxury problem. :mischief:

Some sea treasures are on reefs and you can't enter reefs, how can I deal with that?
Ships have different specifications and not all can enter certain areas but there are ships that can navigate everywhere.

Besides Colopedia where you can look for each ship specification, here's a link to ships chart

It is possible to enter reefs, you just need small Ships like e.g. a Sloop.
(Coastal Ships can enter Reefs as well - they can e.g. use it as hiding spots from Pirates.)

Thanks Ray. More generally can you kindly point me to the "official doc" on rules changes? The mod is complex. Or perhaps it's all in the Civilopedia in-game?
I have already downloaded the charts about merchandises and units, very useful. My last playthrough was in 2.00 actually!
There is a file in the W.T.P. distribution - changelog.txt , where 17 pages list all the changes from version to version. Won't that suit you? :)

Here's something else: while reading the forum, I came across the following link:

This is a guide to WTP.

Looking at this link, I saw in TIPs that it is possible to "combine" treasures up to a value of 3000. Is this really possible? How do you do it?

Because if it was really possible, that would be very useful/interesting, since that way it would be possible to add the values of the various treasures of smaller value, and thus transport them faster with the galleons/West Indian promoted.

If this functionality is not available in the game, I think it could be interesting to add it (if accepted by the Mooders team and it is not so hard to program, since I am not a programmer myself), because several times in my play I received several small value treasures (400 to 599, or less) and then if they could be combined, it would be good to be able to transport them faster, since each galleon/west indian promoted trip only transports 2 units of treasures. and I already had a very high number of treasures (more than 100) in a play, so it will take forever to transport all these treasures to Europe
