WW1 Complete Infantry pack 1

This is named "WWI Complete Infantry Pack 1".

Am I correct in assuming there will be a "WWI Complete Infantry Pack 2" released? If so, is there an approximate guesstimate as to release date?

Already asked:p

Another pack is to come, but most likely i will create it when Smitty gives a sign of coming back and working on Blood and Iron again.
Until then I´ll use my time for FfH II stuff.

Drop dead gorgeous stuff! I can hardly wait for a complete WWI mod now. So now about the AEF, is that maybe what awaits us in the WWI Complete Infantry Pack 2?

Avain... oops... sorry... missed that... nevermind!

Brilliant. Simply.

I love the Russian one the most.

EDIT: Particularly the one on horseback. :p

These units look superb in the screenshots.

The only problem I am having is that I cannot figure out how to get the trench infantries in game. All I can manage is to get the pre-trench infantry in. Could you give me a pointer on what files I need to mix and match to get the steel helmeted infantries in?

So far what I have done is created the unit folder I want (i.e. German Trench Infantry)
I placed in that folder: GermanEarlyGrey Kopie.dds, Ethiopian_OromoWarrior_Germany2.nif. But all I get is the pink silhoutte of the figure with the animations. If I place the GermanEarly Kopie.dds then I get the pre-trench infantry.

I´d suggest you simply put the shared folder into your assets/art/ folder, it will not replace any thing, just add the textures. It works like this: the nif looks for the texture in the folder where the nif is first, if it does not find it there, it will look into the shared folder.
(you need the german late texture in your case ;) )

I attached the Flamethrower stuff from A A in the first post. simply replace the paratrooper in that zip with the one that comes with my units.

Fantastic work. :goodjob: Your units will find it's way to the German Community Civ V [CCV] in one of the next versions.

Will you also make units for the other ArtDefineTags (LateIndustrial/Modern/LateModern), so will you create new units in WWII-style? :mischief:

I'm still not sure how to get the unit in. In my ArtDefUnit I have the following:

<NIF>Art/Units/EarlyInfantry/Ethiopian_OromoWarrior_Britain2.nif</NIF>
<KFM>Art/Units/Infantry/Infantry.kfm</KFM>
<SHADERNIF>Art/Units/EarlyInfantry/InfantryBritain_fx.nif</SHADERNIF>

I think the Ethiopian_OromorWarrior_Britain2.nif is only looking for the early infantry texture. Is there an .nif file I am not seeing that is the one I should be using for the late infantry with the steel helmet?

From what you wrote, you are NOT using late infantry .nif - typically (if you don't turn off shader use), it is shadernif that's displayed. So, you should use <SHADERNIF>Art/Units/EarlyInfantry/Ethiopian_OromoWarrior_Britain2.nif</SHADERNIF>

and dont forget to use Oromo warrior animations. you will need BtS for that (look in the art defines for Oromo and copy that define and replace the nif and shadernif with Art/Units/LateInfantry/Ethiopian_OromoWarrior_Britain2.nif)

the early infantry is the ones in the "infantry folder". the late infantry (with helmets) are the ones in the oromo folder, who use oromo warrior animation and look for the earlyInfantry texture (which doesnt matter if you put all the textures into shared folder!!!!)

Thank you, Walter. I had to change the kfm to the oromo warrior animation as well and got the unit to work in game. :)

Thank you. I think these are your best units yet. Excellent work. :goodjob:

Hey SeZ, which model should I use for the Albanian unit? I'm not sure what to match the skin up with ...

It´s under Infantries.
InfantryAlbania_fx. uses Infantry Animation.

cheers...

Hmmm, I'll recheck when I'm able but I could have sword that the only Albania file was a .dds file; are you sure you included the animation in the zip?

I did not include any "animation" in the zip, as it is completely unnecessary. the animations are already in your civ folders. i did not create new animations. the albania model is in the infantries folder and uses infantry animation, which is in your vanilla art defines somewhere...
