YnAMP - Yet (not) Another Maps Pack

YnAMP - Development thread Civ6

and if i turn them off, will that solve the problem?

after a time, yes IF SOMEONE KILLS THEM :)

... IF it is the Barbarian problem !
as it is a global value and if you haven't used any ruleset, it even would work with an ongoing save game , you have to use that in the gameplay.sql
best write it at the end of the text (last line)

UPDATE GlobalParameters SET Value ='0' WHERE Name ='BARBARIAN_CAMP_MAX_PER_MAJOR_CIV';

I am running the Largest map here and after about 15 turns it will crash have a hd 7870? vid card which looks like it has 8 GB off mem any ideas?
the 7870 has 2GB of VRAM, try to lower everything using RAM in the graphics options.

Have a question about the rulesets. If I'm running the Greatest Earth Map, should I be running the Old World ruleset? or does it matter if I run the Earth ruleset, or even the Euro ruleset? I kind of thought I should be using Old World, as it corresponds with the 3rd ruleset (for the third map) but unsure if that is the case, or any of the rulesets are coded to work with any of the maps?

edit* never mind, I see the rulesets just place the appropriate Civs in the game (am I to understand it would be Earth= all Civs; Europe= only Europe Civs; and Old World= no America, Brazil or Aztec. Unless I am completely misunderstanding it.
Yes, they do exactly that. I will try to make a post detailling the different options after the next release (which add a few more)

SMALL BUG ... GIANT EARTH MAP (Alpha 7)
Irland that river seems not 100% correct, even you could built a watermill but no Aqueduct !
Have a look ...

strange, the plots seems to be referenced as "river"

Just a note: you've an unclosed <UpdateDatabase> tag in your .modinfo file (last UpdateDatabase tag, just before the </Components>).

Gedemon updated YnAMP - Yet (not) Another Maps Pack for Civ6 with a new update entry:

Alpha .8

  • add cliffs to Giant Earth and Europe map thanks to Hormigas
  • change Cliffs of Dover yields (2 food, 1 culture, 1 gold)
  • add option to import continents name from a civ5 map
  • add option for random rivers placement on imported maps
  • add option for random features (forest, jungle, ...) placement on imported maps
  • add resource exclusion zone to Greatest Earth Map
  • add hidden parameters in config.xml to control ice placement on south and north on imported maps when using random features
  • add hidden parameters in config.xml to control forest, jungle, marsh and oasis ratio on imported maps when using random features
  • fix multiple bugs caused by the default value of some hidden setting (like name !) to be the default value of the first selected map
  • fix bug preventing tribal village placement when a civilization without TSL was selected on a map with TSL activated
  • Japan up-scaled on Greatest Earth Map
  • small change to terrain and TSL for Japan on Giant Earth
  • rivers reworked on Giant Earth and Greatest Earth Map (make sure to have an end and a beginning, rivers flow must goes in one direction only)
  • British Columbia is now mostly grassland on Giant Earth and Greatest Earth Map
  • less tundra in Scandinavia on Giant Earth
  • add some plains in north Europe on Giant Earth
  • add code to export/import a civ6 map

There have been multiple reports though of reproducable crashes during AI calculations after a turn. This bug might even occur in unmodded campaigns. Turn 15 seems a little early though, it usually comes later into the game. But if this is the bug you're having, good luck, man. Most of us haven't been able to finish any campaign at all.

Has anyone else had the issue where on the Europe map, you always spawn in Spain if you selected random placement? For some reason everytime I disable TSL for that map, I end up in spain (using giant map size for number of civs spawning). However, if I remove one civ, that constant placement moves to Russia and only Russia. Again, if I remove 2 ai I constantly spawn in the middle east.

I do not know why I am constantly spawning in the same locations (no matter what civ I choose).

What is Resource Exclusion Zone?
Defining regions on the map where some resources can not be placed, for example no ivory in America

There is also a table for resource exclusivity, IE a resource that can be placed only in certain region, for example tea in Asia only.

Thanks for all your hard work Gedemon :D

I know it's within the starting ring for England, so you don't want to make it too strong... but as it is, the Cliffs of Dover feels so weak for a natural wonder (+1 culture +1 gold to two basic grassland tile. The biggest problem with it is that the tiles can't be improved in any way, which means you're stuck with these weak tiles for the entirety of the game. Apart from the eureka for a natural wonder, I actually think the Cliffs of Dover is a hindrance now - at least the old tile yields gave England the option of getting a quick early culture rush in.

Is there any way to allow improvements on the tiles? I think that alone would solve the problem, especially for England who already has limited land.

I think it's a great balance. The added food means you can actually work the tiles without crippling early growth, so you'll be able to get more faith and culture out of it than the old yields. If you have any stone you have the best shot at Stonehenge thanks to the eureka, but even if you miss it the faith should let you at least grab an early pantheon.

Sorry if I missed it, but other than not having barbarians at all, how can I go about reducing the # of camps that spawn per city? I thought I recall seeing a discussion of this but did not see an option for it in any menu in-game.

In Alpha 0.9 why is Florida a part of the continent "Europe"?

It stretches from Florida and includes what looks like most of the colonial region. Shouldn't it all just be part of the continent "America"?

It's in the rules files, for example Rules_1.sql in ..\Documents\my games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Mods\Yet (not) Another Maps Pack\Rules

It's per Civ, not per city, change '2' to '1'
UPDATE GlobalParameters SET Value ='2' WHERE Name ='BARBARIAN_CAMP_MAX_PER_MAJOR_CIV';

I'll check that, that region must have been edited in the civ5 WB without changing the continent type to america, and then was imported with the wrong type.

I don't understand your question, what are you trying to do exactly ?

And a small teaser for those who do not care if a map take 5 minutes to load:

In the description of this mod you have a map available which is called Enormous map size (128x80 = civ5 huge). I would love to try this map.
