You Westerners, will you ever learn what freedom truly means?

Four? That seems extravagant. I thought Russians were a frugal people.

Sorry that America, always showing off there capitalist largess with extravagant wastage.
In Russia you get an empty shell casing hammered into the skull with a hammer, what with the Russian economy in a deep recession :mischief:

Not to be a nitpick, but if you are beating on the skull with a hammer the shell casing would still be an unnecessary extravagance.

If you must know that is an NKVD practiced execution method for German POW during world war 2. It was done by the NKVD for there own sadistic amusement and to inflict pain and slow death. Otherwise a simple bayonet in the heart is more efficient. Of course the Germans treatment of Russian POWs was equally horrific and the treatment of those Russian POWs whom survived by Stalin after the war.

No. The Germans were the only sadists in that war.

So number 1 and number 2 then. :mischief:

Germany has been voted the least funny country in the world in an international poll.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ted-funny-nationality-international-poll.html

This poll is totally Eurocentric. I call shenanigans.

Also, his source is the bloody Daily Mail. Might as well ask Hitler who is his favourite nationality.

India is practically a Libertarian utopia given how people pretty much do what ever they want with very little government regulation or enforcement.

Thus they have all these problems with crime and bad behaviour, though to be fair a lot of it probably to do with the huge amount of poor they have and unequal distribution of wealth.
I dont think India has any social safety net ?

I was under the impression that Indian has ridiculously high levels of regulation and that its laws are strictly enforced when the enforcers are not paid their usual bribes, are sure their victims can't fight back effectively, and aren't feeling lazy.

The problem is that people look at Government spending to GDP ratio and see that India does relatively little government spending. Most advocates of Left-Wing economic policies believe that the gov't spending to GDP ratio is the most accurate yardstick of judging whether a country is laissez-faire and point out that third world countries are the most laissez-faire, while Sweden is 'socialist'.

However, Sweden has laissez-faire stuff that countries like India do not have, such as strict protection of property rights and free trade. In fact, the very notion that government spending indicates how laissez-faire a country is, is ridiculous.

One has to note that India and most third world countries in general suffer from cultural problems that engender poor governance. The best educated Indian who never followed education in the West is still worse educated than say, a high-school dropout in the US. It will take not decades, but centuries before countries like India become as advanced as an ordinary Western country.

You could have saved your time and just said "europe is best, everyone else sucks!".

Nah, that would have enticed people to leave angry replies at me. Now, these people will have their minds boggled.

Freeeeedommmmmm

Under Section 298 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, whoever, with deliberate intention of wounding the religious or racial feelings of any person, utters any word or makes any sound in the hearing of that person, or makes any gesture in the sight of that person, or places any object in the sight of that person, or causes any matter however represented to be seen or heard by that person, shall be liable upon conviction with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.

Yeah...

Under Section 292 of the Penal Code, whoever puts into circulation any obscene object whatsoever shall be liable upon conviction to a fine or to imprisonment of up to three months, or to both.

Right..

Eh. I feel free from obscene objects. That's true freedom.

Yes, I am afraid I am.

Me too, I try to be inconspicuous but I'm not above peeing in an alley when I really need to.

If it's a choice between peeing my pants or peeing on a wall in an alley I'm going to take the latter every time.

It's rather irritating to me though that cities pass codes and laws against urinating in public but then provide a) very little in the way of public restroom facilities and b) local establishments are allowed to restrict bathroom usage to paying customers only. It's an obvious anti-homeless tactic that creates a fair amount of problems for effectively no reason.

People would be surprised at how widely that 'anti homeless tactic' is felt. Not everyone works in an office with a nice restroom down the hall. Anyone with a service route, drivers, delivery people...it is incredibly annoying to be confronted about having to pee.

Reading Western praise of Singapore has been frankly surreal. It's like reading old copies of The Daily Worker.

I would have called it largely 'WTH,' but surreal is a lot smartier.
