Note on the Led Zeppelin album: Their fourth album is officially called Untitled. Some people call it IV since the first three albums are Led Zeppelin, II, and III respectively. Some also call it Zoso mistakenly, which is Jimmy Page's symbol out of the four symbols from the tape cover. Someone else in this thread called it Four Symbols.

I know I'm gonna be disappointed by this, but oh well...

Favorite albums (discouting live albums, as per the OP) :
Pink Floyd : Wish you were here (runner up : Dark side of the moon)
U2 : The Joshua Tree (runner up : Unforgettable fire)
Marillion : Brave (runner up : Clutching at straws)
Coldplay : X&Y (runner up : Viva la Vida)
Dire Straits : Love over Gold (runner up : Making movies, but really nothing beats Alchemy)

Will come back later with songs, but it's gonna be very hard to single out just five songs.

Only RR? I wanted to list Discovery...:( I guess no NIN either?

Neither is in a particular order, and my songs aren't necessarily my favorite songs. I like far too many.

Ecliptica - Sonata Arctica
Never Take Friendship Personal - Anberlin
Led Zeppelin IV (untitled) - Led Zeppelin

Songs:

Only RR? I wanted to list Discovery...:( I guess no NIN either?
Wow, just now i realised what RR in the title means. Yea, so i guess Draconian & Nightwish are out of my list....

lol, I initially thought "Revolution Renaissance"

Well it is the best album, i have to say that the other albums wasn't so good, London Calling was made when they was as best.

I assume "RR" means "Rock and Roll." Accordingly, I didn't include any rap (e.g., Notorious B.I.G., Ready to Die, Public Enemy, Welcome to the Terrordome).

Albums:

Led Zeppelin - II
Led Zeppelin - III
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
Guns & Roses - Appetite for Destruction
The Band - The Band

Songs:

Queen . .. .. .. .. . - David Bowie (Hunky Dory)
Led Zeppelin - Bring It On Home (II)
The Grateful Dead - Uncle John's Band (Workingman's Dead)
Guns & Roses - Sweet Child of Mine (Appetite for Destruction)
The Band - Up on Cripple Creek (The Band)

My favorite band is probably Jethro Tull, but in terms of a single album or song, they don't quite measure up with the ones listed.

Well it is the best album, i have to say that the other albums wasn't so good, London Calling was made when they was as best.

That's just plain wrong. Sandinista! Combat Rock. The Clash. With London Calling, you have 4 great albums.

It's harder to pick songs and albums because there's so many to chose from, this is why I haven't included any songs, it's just too hard to pick. Maybe that helps with your question Berzerker.

Note: these are perhaps 5/20 viable options (I'm not gonna work too hard on this).

Albums: Queen's Greatest, CCR's Greatest, Zep 4 (or physical), AC/DC Live, Floyd Darkside.

Others: Supertramp, RATM (Evil Empire?), Live after Death, Cyprus Hill, Chronic, Snoop's 1st, Paul Simon's Graceland and Rythm, 2112 (because of the drums), Blue Turtles (Shadows in the Rain), one of Adub's* (perhaps live)...

Regarding songs, see post above (x-think).
