1978 Cheverlet (argh, that's hard to spell, it's easier to say Chevy) Monza. When I tell people that, they all thought I had a Mazda. It's a Monza, not a Mazda. It wasn't a very good car. It didn't survive 2 years, it went out just before I went into military service. I wish it had lasted 2 more months, but oh well.

1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Same color as the pic below.

Oh man that is an ugly beautiful car  One of these days, I want one of those types of cars that's just a big ugly box car that is made of 100% American steel before they skimped on the quality. I'd be fearless on the road! "Hummer riding my butt? I could shred that paper car! Racer wanna be trying to rile me up? I could end you!"

Although parking might be a problem in Seattle though as the spaces are fairly small.

A '98 or '99 toyota camry (parents; I forget the year). This is not my camry but same color.

^ not her car but looks almost identical..

I bet you wish you still had that car Birdjaguar! Or do you still have it?
Not really. I sold it in '71 (for $400) and bought a 1968 Saab 96. The Mustang was an OK car, but I never got particularly attached to it. I've never been one to keep "stuff" for its potential appreciated value unless I also have a personal attachment to it.

If I had that car today, I would probably just rent it out as a movie car.

My first car was a 71 AMC Javelin. Didn't get it til near the end of high school. Parents wouldn't buy me a car, but my father agreed to match me dollar for dollar if I kept up my grades. The leads to a question; did most of the people here buy their first car or receive it as a gift, or like me, had parents that paid part if you paid part?

i asked my mom everyday after i got my license to get me a car. she said no every time, so I got a job and bought my own car. the celica cost $1500, which was a lot of money for a kid in high school with a minimum wage job. not to mention insurance and gas.

i suspect most people get their cars from their parents, or else they'd drive beaters like me.

I bought it myself. But, at that point I was in my final year of the academy and getting midshipman pay plus able to get a pretty good car loan for it. Didn't really need a car prior to that.

I was a lucky one as my dad bought me my first car. He was in the Navy and there was always someone around who needed cash fast and was willing to sell things cheap. It was an older car when he bought it and knowing my dad, he got it dirt cheap.

Bought myself with money from a part time job.

1974 VW Beetle. Other cars I had before the age of 20: Early 70's Chevy Monza, 1975 VW Rabbit diesel, 1994 Ford Escort, 1995 Ford Probe GT. I kept the probe for the better part of a decade.
