@Azale: 6, -1 ?

Sounds like a 'corporate libertarian' to me. 6 is way out there. Does your father own a diamond mining business in west africa?

Economic Left/Right: 0.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.05

My latest run was roughly Economic +4, Social: -5.

Economic Left/Right: -1.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.28

Far too lazy to vote right now, but the last time I did it was around 4, -3.

Check the signature.

Wow. I keep moving towards the center. This time i scored a -8.00/-8.15 compared to the double -9ish scores i used to get.

I finally made it. :)

This CFC Compass has 60 entries, correct up to Tboy's post of (-2.88, -2.72)

Mean is (-0.70, -2.84) with a standard deviation of 4.8 economic and 2.82 social.

Enjoy :)

EDIT: wow, what a waste of the 100th post ;)

Heres my results from three websites, with the average of the three.

Neoconservatism is that close to being near the Authoritarian/Libertarian axis?

Though there's a lot to like in that graph. :goodjob:

Sure. Neoconservatism is all about global markets, and it, at least in theory, endeavors to promote "Western" liberal political thought. It does so through military force, which keeps it on the authoritarian side, but a strictly neoconservative government would actually be fairly liberal on social policies and focus domestically on individual freedoms. The Bush administration borrows some aspects of neoconservatism but chooses to augment them with religious conservatism and statism.

I like that graph, Cuivienen. :goodjob:

I'd throw Anarcho-Syndicalism around (-9, -9) as well.

Integral

I ignored anarcho-syndicalism because it's fantasy land to even suggest it as possible system. At least anarchism has the potential to exist (though it would be a disaster like all of the other extreme corners).

Put Current Liberal (or Democrat) at -2,-2

The goal of the chart was to place ideologies, not political parties or vague statements. "Liberal" is far too broad a term that covers most of the bottom half of the chart (though "Conservative" is confined to a fairly small portion of the upper right quadrant).

So by your chart, I am a Classical Liberal?

Gladstone approves. "Classical liberalism" is the liberalism of parties like the old British Liberals and the US Republicans in the early 20th century that promoted international free trade and laissez faire policies combined with encouragement of social mobility and social freedoms (such as women's rights). It's fairly rare to see it represented by a party today.

Has anyone around this site ever gotten high on the Authoritarian scale? When I started here I was around a 5 on the y axis, but I've never seen anyone in Stalin or Hitler range.

According to Integral's compilation, no one has been higher than around 3.8 yet, let alone anywhere near Hitler levels.

Oops, forgot the range.

Economic range is from -9 to 10
Social range is from -9 to 3.88

Quite sad how my 1.5 up, 3 right is "radical" here at CF. Oh well... You're all bloody commies :)
