YuiNES 2- The Modern World

Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri Girogio Napolitano checking in

De Silva is here! Prepare to require my oil!

EDIT: My capital is not Sao Paulo, it's Brasilia.

Note:
1. I am not listed as the Argentine Player.
2. Bolivia's leader is Evo Morales, not Eva.

The Right Honourable Stephen Joseph Harper (PC MP MA) checking in.

Kanzler Angela Merkel ist hier.

I need to point out that, if $1 = 1 billion IRL, then a mechanized division costs 60 trillion to create.

Can I join? I'd like to play as Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the United Kingdom.

Time taken for North Korea to create an infantry division (assuming 100% military spending), 30 turns (9 months each, 27 years to create a division!), total time to create all 80 divisions it currently has 2400 turns (9 months each, 2160 years!).

Maybe a sliding scale tied to something might make it better… having to pay the same costs for a division as the US as North Korea is a touch silly (the vast disparity between equipment is my chief concern with regards to cost). I don’t think fixed costs of any description work terrible well when you’re dealing with minnows and sharks.

And I’m kind of without nuclear weapons of any description… *whistles*

I have to agree that some of the military costs are disproportionately high when you take into account that there are nations which are not earning trillions of dollars each day. Any military growth would take decades. It would be almost impossible to replace military losses.

fixed, and could Sym D. please start the UN?
OOC: Will do in an hour or two. Find me useful resources (ie: the mandate, nations list, formatting proposals, what have you) and I'll include them in the front post. Otherwise, it's there.

Maybe because North Korea's test was pathetic and probably failed (0.5kt to the average 15-30kt for a first nuclear test), it has at most 0-10 operational warheads, its delivery systems are not optimized to carry those warheads ("come over here and fall on this snowball, I dare you!") and it's already begun to dismantle its nuclear program.

And yes, you can expect hell if you want to do the trope of reversing positions because roflcopters nukes si teh koolz, and no, I do not necessarily mean any direct, explosive consequences.

Players already assigned? If not I would like to get Russia.

EDIT: Oh noes! Silver got Russia (nothing personal Silver ;) ) plus I am a little unclear on the rules. I'll lurk. Silver I am watching you closely.

Gosh darn it, America-Symphony D has spoken, nobody shall have nukes!

Well yeah, but your forgetting you have a conscripted army, and I mention in the rules conscription is generally much cheaper. And also, sorry, will fix all mistakes guys.

I mean, I think the majority of most military costs can be explained through the drafts, yet does everyone think it should be cut down by 100% again?

You and Gelion, I'm reaallly sorry. I had a Pre-NES thread where people applied for the big countries. There are several excellent spots still open, and also I'm not opposed to having players for different political parties.
Wait. I just saw A_prop's post, oh god I think I f***** up...

Yui, what would you (as a mod) recommend?
