From: Magnus IX King of Norway-Scotland
To: His Holiness Pope Pius V

We ask that his Holiness put a time limit on a certain dog-Kings response in order that it should not impede our glorious mission.

OOC: Abaddon, you could take Brittany. Yui, I sincerely apologize, but it seems that I won't really have time in the next 25 days to play Brittany the way I had planned/the way it deserves.

We ask that his Holiness put a time limit on a certain dog-Kings response in order that it should not impede our glorious mission.

Sweden echoes the sentiment of Norway in this matter.

To: His Holiness Pope Pius V, Bishop of Rome,

We gaze upon this grand undertaking against the Mahometans with longing eyes for in our hearts we desire nothing more than to slay these heathens and heretics and purify the wretched Mohammedeans from the face of Gods Earth.

Yet while our heart is willing our mind cautions, for we cannot go on Crusade as long as the so-called "King" of France continues to threaten our rightful and god given domains.

Therefore we beg you Holy Father to counsel the pretender "King of France" and to issue an injunction calling for a truce among us for a period of no less than 10 years. For is it not wrong that Christians blood continue to be shed by Christian hands?

We trust in the wisdom of your decision and if the man who calls himself ruler of France is a godly man of Christian spirit and brotherhood then he will abide by your decision and thus may we commit ourselves fully on the holy duty of Crusade.

Yours in Christ,
From King Richard of England, Wales, and France

The House of Luxembourg is finally here and ready to accept all foreign diplomats.

The Kingdom of Aragon is here. We will soon edit on a statement on the crusade and the possibly infidelious King of Castile.

Looks like an interesting NES. I've read the Alt-History and I'll request Genoa if it's open.

When can one expect the update?

Tuesday night, two days after the deadline on Sunday.

And agent 89 genoa is yours but talk to kentharu about our diplomacy.

It was my understanding that the deadline was Monday. My orders will arrive pending on when/if I receive PMs from certain persons, who should contact me :mad:

It only 30 hours to the deadline and I have received zero order sets. Please start sending them.

From: His Holiness Pope Pius V
To: The Rather Perfidious King of Castile

My son of God, as disappointed as I am by your temporary abstention from this crusade I am willing to give you a five year reprieve from fulfilling your crusading duties in acknowledgement of the domestic situation of your kingdom, yet I am sure you find it reasonable for each of these five years that you pay a small duty of 2,500 Super-Florins to the Papacy in support of our Righteous Endeavor.

To Il Papa

Viva Il Papa! Your Eminence, we have considered our affairs of state with great care and are pleased to report that we will join the Kings of Naples, Sweden, Scotland-Norway, Poland, England, France, and all other Christian domains in the holy endeavor of crusade. However we are most disgusted at our wretched cousin for turning his back on the most sacred of duties of the Christian Kings of Iberia and refused the call of Reconquista. Though we are tempted to whet our blade with his cowardly blood, we instead propose this:

1. That the Christian armies gather at our cities as the gateway to crusade, for out of all Christian nations our territory is closest to the territory of the Moors and their last holding of European territory;
2. That the 12,500 Super Florins the King of Castile has offered to pay thus be delivered to the Christian armies gathering in our lands, for there is no risk of open sea and piracy should it be delivered thus;
3. That the King of Castile open his lands to the Crusader armies and provide us supply and quarter as we march to Moorish Granada;
4. That should he fail thus, we be allowed to join all Christian nobles in his lands and reject his kingship;
5. That His Holiness appoint a supreme commander loyal to another King (and of course God) for we know we ask much and thus wish to make clear that we are doing this out of duty, not glory or personal aim.

Your most zealous servant,
The King of Aragon

The Kingdom of Sweden supports this initiative, and beseeches Your Holiness to consider its full worth.

From: His Holiness the Pope

All these preparations are proper and good, yet the head of this Crusade shall be a bishop appointed by me.
