Zohran Mamdani

A Large population count to boot.

Just wanted to chime in that the ballot was rigged for the Dems.
Hello and welcome to Off Topic.

Your opinion is welcome, but we have been hearing about rigged elections since 2020 but Trumpers have never presented any actual evidence of such a thing. Your claim of it for NYC seems to be just another disinformation falsehood. Do you have any actual evidence or is your post just wishful thinking?

We have got evidence of apparently targeted bomb threats that would have the effect of reducing democrat votes. Threatening violence to one sides voters is a particularly nasty form of election rigging.

The full extent of who received the bomb threats is not clear. None are believed to have been deemed credible. NBC News compiled a list of 67 locations in 19 counties, based on local news reports and state and local election officials’ statements, all of which appear to have received similar threats. Of the 67 locations, 56 were in 11 counties that voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election, including the eight most populated. Those high-population Democratic counties include voting locations for Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

A Large population count to boot.

Just wanted to chime in that the ballot was rigged for the Dems.

I wonder if there will be a lot of regular GOP voters strategically voting for Cuomo. Silwa will have to settle for pickle-eating world champion. (No, really, he is.)
4-time world champion.
For four years in a row, in the mid-1990s, New York mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa was the sour garlic pickle-eating champion of the world and almost earned a silver in a matzah ball-eating contest — before he was disqualified for tampering with them.
How do you tamper with a matzah ball eating contest?

Battle of New York City (2025)
Outcome: decisive Mamdanid victory (further Mamdanid territorial gains during the Mamdanid Conquests of the 2030s)

I heard billionares spent big to Cuomo's campaign which if true makes me happy. If that is the case, that means they badly don't want the democratic socialist to win. Sort of related, when walmart employees in a canadian town unionized, walmart responded by leaving the town. That means they were genuinely terrified of the union, despite their claims unions are a scam that don't help employees. I expect some billionares to leave new york for tax evasion, but that dosen't mean most people won't be better off.
I believe Mamdani will have to petition the state legislature to raise corporate taxes in New York City. Now if he says he will definitely raise taxes, that's a promise which is more likely to be broken.

Mamdani Adds Lina Khan to Team of Women Leaders After Election Win

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is starting off with a big move: bringing former Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan to co-chair his transition team.

Khan is famous for her antitrust expertise, beginning with her work at the New America Foundation and continuing through her time at Yale Law School. When President Biden nominated her as FTC commissioner and later as FTC chair in 2021, she was the youngest nominee ever.

As FTC chair, Khan was willing to take on major corporations such as Amazon and Microsoft to combat monopolies, earning praise from Democrats as well as Republicans, including JD Vance and Steve Bannon. Khan’s action against Ticketmaster drew bipartisan support for a Justice Department lawsuit against the company in May last year.

Mamdani’s inclusion of Khan for his transition suggests that he’s willing to take on powerful corporate interests as mayor as part of his agenda to make the city more affordable. The question is how much he’ll be able to do from New York City Hall.

Frankly, THAT is the most important item that should be pushed. I'm talking long-term whole mankind benefit here.

I may not be a leftist, but its somewhat cathartic seeing MAGA seething over this.

It's crazy how much wildly racist posting people have been doing over this guy

Bush did 9/11 so idk what they're all freaking out about?

Saw this yesterday, good news as far as I'm concerned.

Cue picture of J6 : America, you forgot

This made me connect the dots that these memes implying Zohran did 9/11 are indeed just projection of the fact that Americans actually reelected the guy who did Jan 6th.

Is anyone here a New York City resident? Does anyone even know a resident? Then frankly no one really should care...

I know many NYC residents, I grew up an hour away from Manhattan and many people where I grew up commute into the city for work lmao (in fact even though I now live in a different city I still refer to NYC as "the city")

Honestly this is so funny, like yep no one could possibly know anyone who lives in New York City, the largest city in the USA! Inconceivable!
