Variant:
This is a testing run for a variant I have thought of (Madviking has a SG running with nearly the same variant, I know)
Anyways: AW delayed.
This means, we will be completely peaceful untill we discover one certain tech, I suggest nationalism. From there on it is standard AW (against 15 AIs on pangäa :eek: )
After we discover this tech, we have to declare immedeately on everybody we know, regardles of deals, trades, alliaces, attitudes, ect..
Untill then, we have to be completely pacifistic. We are not allowed to capture or destroy cities (we may recapture lost cities).
Note that this is more a testing run to see if this variant in all it`s brutality is possible at all (I doubt it). So if we lose, it`s fine.
Thus everyone is invited, regardless of experience. It`s kind of a training game.

Variant is very possible. There should be plenty of fun unleashing your mounted units, and they should die out just in time for tanks. I think you'll be responsible for most of the brutality, rather than on the receiving end of it.
 
I would join since it would be my first RaR SG. But my sig is about flood. :cry: I'll come in when needed.

(PS- if you're wondering, I got a 100k (or whatever it is) on Regent, killed a couple of people)

I would chose Germans, Russians, and someone else who has an late middle-industrial UU.

(Also, its OK if you take my idea ;), except its with only one unit attacking.)

I was thinking about a civ with a UU in that area, too.
I had forgotten about Germany, the only civs I came up with were England and Russia.
 
Zorn, read Sana01 to see just how powerful panzers are following a later switch to AW.

I will sign up, I can make room for another SG as it's RAR. Pangaea, looking at early peaceful expansion, lots of late middle age wars, I would like to cast a vote for the Russians. EXP will be a big help early, and cossacks are lots of fun. England have a seafaring UU, and gain a lot of advantage for cities on the coast, I don't think they're good for this game. Ottomans UU is at the same time as Russia's, and very powerful too.

Other options with UUs a little bit earlier, but still effective are Mongolia, China, and maybe Arabs & India.

But be careful - MA wars will do us little good, since we are not allowed to capture land. That`s why I think the variant is difficult: We cannot really expand a lot before the going gets tough.
 
sorry, I misread when the wars start. Should have said 'early IA wars.' Early expansion, with a switch to heavy war in the early IA, at which point the best attackers are hussars, which need escorts, sipahi, and cossacks. Cossacks are better escorts, attack as well as sipahi (5 attack instead of 6, but extra hp and blitz. :D ), and the russians expand better than the ottomans early. So still a large vote for the russians.
 
i have RAR but i think its version 1.02 and im really bad at it. (i cant even win on warlord) so ill lurk and see if this will help me with my RAR skills

ps. Madviking! is this gonna be 11 1/2 for you?
 
Still open? I'll join if you can stand to have a gaffer on the team- never played RaR before- will blunder my way through with a little help from my friends :)

if someone can tell me where to get 1.04 (cs i only have 1.02) then i would try it out.
ive never finished a game in RAR and this would help with my RAR skills.

All right, with coolio we are 4, let`s kick it off.
I will generate a couple of starts, we can then decide wich to take.
One thing before I start: The culture-limit from RAR is quite low for a huge map. I once accidently won a culture victory at the beginnng of the industrial age. Should I raise it to 100k?
 
Huge map? missed that bit. Smaller might get more signups, huge turns late with heavy wars can take ages. Doesn't matter. Increase the limit sounds like a good idea, just in case.
