19th and 20th Century mod

Ok, people! Now I have reached that point I might start adding scenarios. The mod is ready for release after some tweaks. But first I wanted to know what scenarios you want there to be? They might not get to the release, but I'll post them as soon as possible. (I have said that pretty many times ) So basicly you can suggest anything from the industrial and modern times.

Right now, after hours of playing, I have began to think the ideologies (or what ever you want to call them). I like the idea, but at the moment the current civ religion engine is horrible to my needs. It hasn't been designed for this kind of modding. I don't like the holycities, religion spreads, and all the religious xml tags and buildings are not working the way it would need to. That would require a completely recreate of the religions, and I don't have time or tallent to do that (I need to get this mod pretty much finnished in about 6 months). I love the idea of presenting different ideologies, but IMO the current way isn't the best way. (no offence veBear)

Tomorrow when I release the mod, you can see the current one (about 17 hours left ) and I would like to have your oppinion about this.
I might make them civics and change the religions back to normal.

This is the first playable version of this mod. I highly suggest you to download it even if you have/haven't got the previous version. It'll break your save games. There are lots of balancing issues left, but the tech tree is pretty much working. I would like to hear your oppinion about the ideologies, and what should I do to them.

Actually you do not need to change all these tags. All you need to do is to rename the religions (so for example Taoism -> Facism, Christianity->Republic, Islam-> Monarchy and so on), add new building graphics and add new symbols. The symbols i can help you with, and maybe i could retexture some buildings for you to, so you could use them instead.

Ok, could you take a look at it? I would appreciate it very much. I'm horrbile with the graphics (you can notice that from some of the buttons in game ).

Wow, they are 1000 times better than I would have done. (actually when you multiply 0 with something it's always 0 )
Could you make buttons for democracy, monarchy, dictator ship and theocracy too? I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

When do you think they're ready? I'm not going to pressurise you, but I'm going to release a small patch kind version soon that fixes some issues. No need to hurry though, I'll release it when your ready.
BTW, I know your busy, but how's the scenario going?

Ouch! Seems like when I removed one religion, the TGA file got screwed up.
Now I need a suggestion for 7th ideology to fix it. (Current ones: democracy, communism, fascism, theocracy, dictator ship and monarchy) Any ideas?

Not very important in the real world, but it's a real ideology, and doesn't overlap with the others.

Okay, (quick look into wikipedia) it sounds like a good one. Might need some thinking with the buildings though, but I'll see what i can come up with.
BUT, if you already have some ideas, it's always better to me.

That's weird. What do you mean you can't download it? I tried it and it seems to work for me. Well anyway, I'll try to make a mirror for it.

I'm going to release a patch kind version mayby tomorrow. It's a minor release but it should fix some bugs and other things. No need to hurry though veBear, I don't have time to add your buttons because my computer is going to be repaired on Friday, again. That's why I'm in a hurry. I'm trying to get something out before I have my "modding holiday week".
But anyway, I'll try to make the next one a BIG version.

Mayby the biggest improvements are new leader diplomacys and new civics. Both will need some tweaking still. I have tried also to improve the mod's speed. All the art files have been packed, which should increase the loading speed a lot. Tomorrow i know better how faster it'll be...

The 2.15 version has been released! I have packed the art files and seems like it gives an enormous boost for loading the mod, it also decreased the size of the mod a little.
This release was more like a patch and nothing big has been added. Biggest things have been adding new civics and fixing leaders' way they act (no more happy hitlers or lenins capitulating you on their own will ). Both will need some balancing.

Most likely I will be out of modding for the next week, but I'm not sure yet. It depends what has been broken in my comp.

veBear, I tried several times to upload it to FileFront but stangely it crashed all the time. Could you please confirm can you download the current version?

Actually I had noticed your post and was already going to add it someday. But thanks for reminding. And I know that city list was horrible, I think I just took some cities from wikipedia.

After searching around, and thinking about it, i just would not give them a shrine. It's against this ideology.
And the only popular thing, which is related to anarchism, is the idea of Utopia.

But through the search i've learned now, that anarchism was really important in history .

Okay, I guess I'll need to study it some more and then see what I come up with. It might be something suprising!

Here is the Scenario. The Map is revealed to every civ (Althoght it is the 19th century, so it should indeed be)

I tested your map but got a python error when loading the map and on the start of the game it just says I have been defeted.

I have no idea what could cause that. Could you check if you can play it? I tested it with Hitler but will try others too.

EDIT: Seems like it's because those äöåá etc. in the city names in your scenario. The game doesn't seem to like them.
And somehow the mod crashes when you exit from a scenario. More bugs to hunt down...

Can anyone suggest a new database for my mod? Seems like there's many people who try to download the mod, but when they see that they have to wait for 24 minutes they give up. I think more people would download it if there wasn't that waiting penalty.
So does anyone know a proper place to upload my mod? Currently I have uploaded it into atomic gamer.

I have an awesome idea but I won't tell it to you yet. But instead I want you to tell me what different kind of things you would like the ideologies be able to change. Everyone can say anything. It depends on me how well i can use your suggestions.
