You picked Brodie Croyle...over Omar Jacobs. *sigh* :p

Croyle did well in the senior bowl workouts and skills practices--he moved up the board some.

The fact remains that I would never choose him in the second round. His knees do him in, and until he can prove he can withstand NFL hits, he isnt worth a first day pick.

If he is sturdy enough, then its a great pick. But Jacobs was the second ranked quaterback and the beginning of the year! He fell because of his own small injury and his team sucking it up.

As said, Croyle has all the skills to be a good NFL QB, it's just that injury history that is a concern. But with Jacobs, the biggest concerns are that he lacks a competitive fire, gets unnerved when blitzed and throws off his back foot (I saw that way too many times this past season when watching BG games!). I feel he might be better suited for a West Coast offense and the Dolphins just don't run that.

And Kyle Boller threw a ball 50 yards through the uprights on his knees. Being a workout warrior and being a good NFL player often isn't the same thing...

Well, it's time to get this moving again, so here's the next two picks:

With the 55th pick in the CFC draft the Cincinnati Bengals select:

Domynique Byrd - Tight End - University of Southern California

With the 56th pick in the CFC draft the New York Giants select:

Spencer Havner - Outside Linebacker - UCLA

The Chicago Bears take 6-7 310 LB tackle from the University of Texas Jonathan Scott.

Coach Lovey Smith-- We really expected this kid to go much earlier in the draft. He has the potential to be a all-pro tackle in this league. We like his athleticism, durability, size and long arms. He needs a little help with his technique since he gets sloppy at times but all of his problems are fixable.

An All-Pro Tackle just like Mike Williams and Leonard Davis, to other fine and highly touted UT tackle prospects....

Agreed but he won't be thrown into the fire anytime soon. He is a bit of an underacheiver, needs to hit the weights and get a little nastier (something I bet Olin Kreutz can fill him in on). But in terms of his physical tools he has the total potential package with lots of upside. Vince Young and the prolific Texas offense were not a one man team. Garza may not be around so holes are being filled.

I also picked him up late 2nd round not like Davis who was the 2nd pick in the 2001 draft and Williams the 4th overall pick in 2002.

It looks like I'm (well, Green Bay is) going to be up in 10 picks. Red Fusion, if I don't respond within 2 hours of being UP, please choose the Best Available Offensive Guard for the Packers. Thanks

With the 58th pick in the CFC draft, the Carolina Panthers select:

Greg Eslinger - Center - University of Minnesota

Reason: Best Player Available.

With the 59th pick in the CFC draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

Richard Marshall - Cornerback - Fresno State

You mean the gigantic one? Dude, that picture's not Gabe. You, my friend, have fallen to Buckeye propaganda.

Too small, not strong enough. Booooooo! (And the Broncos really wanted him in a couple of picks time, as he's a perfect fit for them.)

Broncos preferences for their next pick:

1. Donte Whitner - S
2. Anthony Fasano - TE

Steelers:

1. D'Qwell Jackson - ILB
2. Cedric Griffin - CB
3. Jonathan Joseph - CB
4. Maurice Stovall - WR

If he puts on 15-20 pounds he's one of the best lineman in this draft.

My objection wasn't serious, I agree with you. I think the Falcons will take him in round 2. If he lasts to the Broncos 2nd round pick, he'll definitely go then. He'll be very good in those two systems without bulking up.

Sorry about the delay folks. The Jaguars take:

Demario Minter (CB) Georgia

That should solve the whole secondary issue.

Per Sanabas' earlier post, the Broncos take:

Donte Whitner - Safety - The Ohio State University
