I just found out today that my cat has stage 3 kidney disease and has less than 6 months to live. This is by far the worst Christmas that I can remember.

That is terrible news. I'm sorry.

Hey the Clippers beat the Lakers, nice

That's the second bad cat news we've had now.

I'm gonna get my cat a checkup at the vet in the new year. Been a couple of years since last time so she's due.

Ohhhh I'm so sorry @caketastydelish :( And I'll be wishing your kitty the best @Snerk

Did you all have a wonderful Christmas?

I had my best Christmas in a very long time, maybe as far back as I can remember. I got a lot of wonderful things, but my favorite is definitely a musical waterglobe, that plays Music of the Night while Erik and Christine dance.

Mr KB loved his star destroyer, lol! It's so cute how excited he gets for what is basically a toy.

Thanks, she's nine and in good health. But she's due for some vaccines and general check up. Perhaps her teeth needs some cleaning too.

I had a nice christmas, spent with my family as per usual, great food and they were all happy with my gifts. And I got some nifty stuff too. A new frying pan, a knife sharpener, new boots and some other stuff.

I got patches for the OTV-5, SES-11/EchoStar-105, CRS-13, CRS-14 and Formosat-5 missions. This gives me exactly enough patches to fill the current frame I have for them but if I get any more, I will have to get a bigger specialty frame. I also got a couple of Christmas tree ornaments.

Only one person told us what they wanted this year so everyone got a selection of random fun stuff that fit their interests or personality like Dragon Ball Z baubles for my brother and a puzzle robot dinosaur thing for my sister. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with the gifts.

My doggo got a re-gifted stuffed animal and a dental hygiene chew toy and he loves both. We were worried he wouldn't like the hygiene toy but he's already tearing it into small pieces.

i know that my gf's mom's cat will die next year. Partially due to old age. But still a bit sad that painkillers for cats are uhmm... rare?

3rd "Xmas" celebration was held today. I got honey, a painting and a picture of a Scottish girl.

More a matter of expense than availability. That's why so many opt for euthanasia when their pet develops a condition that includes chronic pain. They can't afford the pain meds. :(

I've survived another Christmas! With nearly 72 hours of no CFC thrown into the bargain.
how not to tape yourself to the wrapping paper
*giggles*

I've just found a comic strip that is a good read now in eksmastide.

Where is equality? Painkillers for people, but cats are left in pain?

Euthanasia for cats, but people are left in pain?

The cat in question has been howling for like 8 months already. It is in great pain and people, its owners, just wait for it to die. Vet is supposedly too expensive. When I arrive I'm angry/sad at these people usually.

I had a good one, my gf loved her gift so I consider the holiday a success. I also got some stuff I needed/wanted.

I spent the week or so before Christmas on the edge of a nervous breakdown, not sleeping etc. but I am feeling much better now so yeah.

Hang in there man.

I'm sorry cake. Tying to guess how long my big guy has. Still pretty spry, but his face is deteriorating pretty quickly. We picked up some morphine for him. Cost a bunch. Checked my little gal kitty later in the day. Off to the vet tomorrow to look at a much smaller, but familiar looking spot on her gums.
