Then why would she have that drug in her system?I don't believe she or her trainers were trying to increase her performance by using drugs.

Doping is a very easy crime not to commit. It is always intentional on somebody's part.
She is 15. Manipulation is possible. She might not have known. You said she took the drug. Implying that she used it knowingly and willingly.
There's an unfair level of scrutiny against Russian athletes. American and some other athletes are using doping just as much, but they are not being investigated to the same level.
May be, someone should answer this question, before she is publicly destroyed? Then why would she have that drug in her system?
That should be a matter of investigation. What you are demonstrating, is a presumption of guilt. Then why would she have that drug in her system?
https://www.espn.com/olympics/story...ter-kamila-valieva-alleged-positive-drug-testWADA issued an advisory in January 2018 that trimetazidine could show up in urine samples as a false positive for lomerizine, a migraine medication that is permitted.
American swimmer Madisyn Cox successfully appealed a two-year ban that was reduced to six months after she proved that a vitamin supplement she had been taking was contaminated with trimetazidine.
Must of been an accident! too many sweets at Christmas time. If the drug was there, then somebody gave it to her and she took it knowingly or or not. Likely her coach.May be, someone should answer this question, before she is publicly destroyed?
Thats very true, but you are already moving from the very categoricalShe is 15. Manipulation is possible. She might not have known.
, right?she has been using banned drugs.
Nice link. Yes, we don't know the outcome yet. Medals have not changed. One false positive is not much of a story and it was a different drug. The IOC presumed guilt based on the test but only held up the medal ceremony until further investigation happened. The internet and social media took care of the rest. That should be a matter of investigation. What you are demonstrating, is a presumption of guilt.
As for history of false positives:

It was the same drug. In one case, WADA warned that permitted drug may show up as trimetazidine in test sample. One false positive is not much of a story and it was a different drug.
These are results of European championship in mid-January. They were taking tests during that event, obviously:Likely her coach.
I remember that photo. Every single girl on that photo could be Russian, except the Belgian
No mate, Aussie-stralia. It's a big place. Equal to CONUS. Don't let the Standard Mercator Projection map distortion fool you.Belgium? Wisconsin is almost 6 times the size with half the people. One tower can cover your whole country? US is more rural, much more so when cable was exploding decades ago. And back then analog tv reception was much sketchier than digital is today. In the 80-90's the 'rabbit ears' were practically a thing of the past, because most had cable, and prices weren't that bad.
With cable, 50 channels was a minimum back in the day (decades ago, after the old 13 channel dial tvs were gone), now cheaper packages come with 100-150 channels. (And the joke is "There is still nothing to watch").
But what is considered a 'cheap' package today is just unreasonable. As viewership declined, cable companies raised subscription rates of those who remained to compensate......

Based on what I've heard and read, I'm on Kamila's side at this point regardless of Russia's notorious history with doping. It's just too sketchy how this went down. The drug is not even a proven performance enhancer. I highly doubt she knowingly took it herself.
Doping is not as easy to avoid as one thinks. Sure some drugs are, but some are found naturally in certain consumables.
Plus, she's is absolutely spectacular. Some silly drug she may or may not have actually tested positive for way back when, and has not since, has no bearing on her performance here. I want to see her skate again.
Go Murica!![]()
Her coach is considered (rightfully) the absolute elite and gathers the most talented girls from all Russia - where figure scating is a popular sport. Her coach grinds her skaters into dust.
