More Unique Components for Vox Populi

3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP - Official thread 88.10

Hi, I found a potential bug and not sure where to report it. InDuna - the unique Great General replacement is not affected by any policies that should affect regular GG. Just finished a game as the Zulu and had both the Imperialism policy for extra 10% combat bonus and Autocracy tenant that improves tanks + gives extra movement to GG. Yet my InDuna's only gave 15% bonus and moved 3 spaces. Lebensraum (increased citadel range) works fine.

Also thank for a great mod! Each civ feels so unique with it!

@pineappledan are there any issues with the Promotion Tree concerning any of the additional units you have created? I'm thinking of the Inuit sled dogs or that Philippine unit, for example.

Alright well if anyone mentions issues with that just @ me and I'll see if I can add compatibility in the Promo Tree.

I think the description of the Celtic Scythed Chariot needs an update...it says that it "has more vision" but it doesn't actually have more than the Skirmisher, which it replaces.

Anything need updating for 1/11 version, or is v55 still fine to use?

I think it's fine? I don't know what the defense building changes are yet, but if there is a problem it is a balance one, not a problem with mismatched numbers

Probably not. All lua features were developed to be as intuitive for current AI behaviour as possible. This one uses standard escorting.

Ranged strike modifiers' power has changed a lot. Pushing a new version that reduces the city ranged strike modifiers and updates the text on buildings affected

Civilopedia entry for Oppidum is unreadable.

Monolithic Church seems duplicated

Kibbutz is messed up

We were aware of how Oppidum's civilopedia entry looks like, but from our perspective there's nothing much to do beside reworking the improvement. You can write on VP's github about this, but iirc there was such call and response was negative.

The mono church has separate versions for on stone and for hills. Religious beliefs won’t boost both build conditions so you have to separate them.

the ui flubs for oppidum and kibbutz are beyond our control. We can’t silence UI elements.

Could someone explain me why the Monolithic Church yield is so poor?

It stands on grassland hill (2:c5production:) and the whole hex gives 3:c5production: 1:c5culture: 1:c5faith:, i.e. the Church provides only 1:c5production: 1:c5culture: 1:c5faith:.

UI - Monolithic Church (Worker Improvement):
available at Theology
build time - 10 turns

+1 :c5production: Production and +1 :c5faith: Faith
must be built on unfeatured Hill or Stone
cannot be adjacent to each other
improves Stone Resources
Yields from Monolithic Church scale with Policies, Beliefs and Ideologies instead of technology:
+1 :c5culture: Culture for every Ancient Era policy tree completed
+1 :c5faith: Faith for every Medieval Era policy tree completed
+1 :c5science: Science for every Industrial Era policy tree completed
+2 :c5gold: Gold for adopting an Ideology
+1 :c5faith: Faith for every Pantheon belief
+1 :c5culture: Culture for every Founder belief
+1 :c5production: Production for every Follower belief
+1 :c5culture: Culture for every Enhancer belief
+1 :c5gold: Gold for Reformation belief

According to the post №2 the Church should provide: 1:c5production: and 1:c5faith:(base), 1:c5culture: for completed Ancient Policy Tree, 1:c5faith: for Pantheon, 1:c5culture: for Founder belief, 2:c5production: for two Follower beliefs, 1:c5culture: for Enhancer and 1:c5gold: for Reformation, which makes 3:c5culture: 2:c5faith: 3:c5production: 1:c5gold: plus 2:c5production: from terrain = 5:c5production: 3:c5culture: 2:c5faith: 1:c5gold:.

You aren’t getting the belief yields.

As I said, there are 2 copies of the monolithic church, and the belief yields are only added correctly if you split the mono church this way. Have you tried building a mono church on stone? Have you tried building a mono church on a different hill? It’s possible a hidden resource is disabling the belief yields.

The Church built on stone seems to be working correctly, but the one which can be build on a hill has poor yields. See the screenshot where both types are built next to one another (although it shouldn't be possible, right?). The hill churches cannot be build next to each other, as it should be, but a hill church and a stone church can, as seen on the screenshot.

In my current game I have six hill churches, all of them give the "wrong" yield of 3 production, 1 culture and 1 faith.

Couldn't reproduce. Maybe you're using an old version? we resolved this bug back in September

You can clearly see the +1:c5faith: from my pantheon on both the stone and the hills mono church.
Spoiler :

Weird. Here are the mods I'm using. The "More Unique Components" mod is .56 version.
