I'd like to have tech trading as it would encourage players to co-operate.

Although this is the reason why many people do not like it. Two or more people can gang up on a third, and if you're that kind of behind in a tech race it can be impossible to catch up.

Ready & waiting... who's slowing things down?

Well, only Hercules is left needing to join the game at pbemtracker.

And I didn't get a lot of feedback on playing times to adjust the european mob.

And it's hard to detect a consensus on the game options, although I guess I could come over all authoritarian and just decide . . .

Some people just said random, from which I assume they don't mind the settings any more than they mind which tribes they end up with.

And unfortunately I'm a bit busy with work at the moment, so not as distressed as i would normally be that I feel we might not be ready to go yet.

However, as always, all input welcome...

I think I would play around 18:00-22:00 during week, timezone +2 as a reminder.

What about the game speed? Normal, or is quick standard in all mp games?

Normal is the standard speed here. And its nothing like those games you play on the standard multiplayer in the game, there is often a lot more politics between players.

Unfortunately, as well as work, there is some sad RL stuff to attend to Sunday.

If possible, I will aim to start this Saturday, but if that does not happen, it will likely be the following week or weekend.

Hercules is now on board at pbemtracker, which is good, but the first round needs sending by manual email anyway.

Before starting, I will read anything else posted here. And we might need an experiment . . .

i would like the three tribes should be on a team and tech trading off. I do enjoy random events/huts as for the map... I'm not sure.

if we end up in teams; i'd reco NOT doing an Advance start due to the aforementioned rapid advance in shared techs, maps, religion, etc (U could also offset some of advantages by setting level higher (Monarch or higher)

In case anyone is not familiar with Advanced Start - in case we decide to go with it - I attach a token throwaway save for a similar game to what we would be playing, so you can experiment if necessary.


Here I opted for 550 gold before launching. This seems too much to me on reflection, but here is a taste anyhow.

Oh yeah I would like an advanced start as it speeds up the beginning, which can be very slow.
