US casaulties were higher than the Japanese losses despite outnumbering them vastly.
 
Well for the Battle of Attu:

US casualties: 3,797 counting wounded, injuries and disease.
Japanese casualties: Aprox. 2,879 (presumably all killed except for 29 POWs)

US Forces: 15,000
Japanese Forces: 2,900

For the entire Alutian campaign (from wiki)

US casualties: 4,897 (Killed + Wounded)
Japanese: 4,350 (Only KIA given)
