FYI Chinese Citizens, the Italian Nation is simply aiding the Republic of China from the aggressive revolt of the Commies. The Italian Nation and People want nothing more than a united Republic of China as we too know the pain of a divided nation. The Republic of China is a fair and righteous government for the Chinese Citizens. Italy demands no reimbursement in furthering the glorious cause of the Republic of China. Italy does this for the Chinese people to be united under their own banner of honest government in the form of a Republic. Good Day and Good Luck.

Oh well, this is all bordering on irrelevance anyway.
On the Rails
Gilles Dupuis picked up his notebook, for what had to be the tenth time that day. The train car jittered as it ascended- the quality of the railroads in Iroquois lands, particularly the route traversing Les Rocheuses, was questionable at best. The route had been long- a steamer up the Saskatchewan River, a brief, mountainous train ride, and further steamboats to Nouvelle Caen.
It wouldn’t have been possible without funding, of course- a grant had been given by the Syndicates, with some high-minded talk about “showing off the nation’s best”, but the young Manitous of Winnipeg didn’t care about a grand cultural and athletic mission to promote the Métis- they cared about playing, and winning.
The notebook had quite a story to tell- records of every game since the team’s inception. As of yet, in nearly half a year of playing, the Manitous were without a loss. No one in the Syndicate could even hold their own against them, much less defeat them.
That was, perhaps, one of the reasons that they were now in a frigid train in the high mountains, on their way to the Pacific Coast for a month long trip- there was no one left to challenge in the old country. Dupuis, the coach and manager of the team, flipped several more pages, to view the teams his group would soon be facing. First, they would travel up the coast, to Bella Coola, to face their club- the Loups-Garoux- that was an ominous name. Gilles shrugged and looked at the next group. Les Ours de Vancouver- he’d barely even heard of the city, let alone the team- more likely than not it was a group who had gathered simply for the opportunity to face the Manitous, as so many in the syndicate had done.
Finally, the big challenge- Les Nationales de la Nouvelle France. This was perhaps the only team on the Pacific coast that Gilles had heard of before- the best in the country, if rumours held any truth.
The train jumped again as it passed over another bump. Gilles idly wondered if the trees down the slope would be able to stop a falling train before it plunged into the river. He looked back- the rest of the team was talking avidly about the upcoming matches. They were ready.
