Your hard work is nothing but the exploitation of our people and resources, you may have designed them, but who works in the factories and who built the dams? WE did, not you. We offer a final chance, and we're even willing to compensate SOME businessmen who did not openly exploit us. If you think you can take away our livelihoods that we built, think again.

We have only hoped for the better part of two decades that we could peacefully and amicably leave the empire. We have been willing to negotiate, but the only response to our people's pleas have been the changing of the constitution to prevent us from leaving. The Danish government is hardlly a beacon of democracy or deceny should you not allow the wish of Iceland's people. It is the hypocrisy of your government that forces us to part ways. We highlly recommend your puppets in Parliament pass our bill for independence this year, or we will seek alternative methods to achieving our goals.

Frankly, you should be ashamed of yourselves. The fact that you have been working on those factories only means that you have been paid a good salary for your work. It doesn't give you the ownership of the factories. And, excuse me, "our livelihoods that we built"? Please, those factories were built by Danish people (Danish from Denmark, not Danish from Nijeria) and their first workers were Danish from Denmark as well, not Danish from Nijeria. By using your measure rod, those factories are Danish from Denmark, and the Dams would be owned by all of the Empire, as the people that build it came from all the Empire. So, please, do not make false claims about ownership. You wouldn't have had anything to own if it hadn't been for the Empire.

Well, democracy has, so far, said that most of the Icelandic people have voted for those parties that call for the permanence of Iceland within the Empire, so your charges of hypocrisy are false - in fact, it could be considered that the hypocrits are you, as you are unwilling to hear the voice of the main part of the population you claim to represent. You already have a lot of autonomy respect what you would have received if you were part of, for example, the French Empire (entirely hypothetical situation).
As we said before, if you want independence, then it would be total independence, which means that anything Danish (infrastructure, factories) that you wish to keep is to be paid back by the hypothetical Icelandic government to the Danish government and that no trade will be made with Denmark until a new deal is made. Said deal would be quite bad for you, as it would have to go through borders that weren't there before and thus it would raise the prices of anything you received from Denmark quite a lot.
Show me a document in which more than two thirds of the Danish people that live in the region of Iceland say that they are willing to go with the consequences of total independence and then, maybe, the Folketing may accept it. But do think of the consequences before anything else.
If you want to use "alternative methods", sure, try a rebellion. It'll be fun to see what happens when your country's infrastructure is destroyed. Don't come crying when you realise that you made a mistake.
