OOC: I think I'll do a statistical study later for the game to shed some additional light on how the Axis manpower situation was maneuvering around the shallow end. As much as I like voting this is definitely one war democracy lost. Reviewing the situation two years post-war France is ruling the World's Largest Empire on a military roll of somewhere over a million men (counting a brigade as 3k), navy and airforce included after demobilizing while Italy is somewhere between 1.5 to 2+mill. Then there's reserves of course for another hundred thousand for France if doubled and Italy at a quarter of a million doubled while Russia has almost four times the infantry of France and another five quarters of ten million in reserve if doubled (though this gap is of course now shrinking fast (it already has somewhat despite the continued Axis warfare), a fairly inevitably development after peace was signed). But even moreso the unhealthy mix of pacifism followed succeeded by interventionism (in succession style) did much more damage than democracy ever did to a conclusion benefiting Russia. A massive pre-conflict army would have ended the war whilst no involvement would have saved Russia the effort.
Other than no Russian or Islamic Union intervention this war could not have gone better for the Axis as regard lynchpin events. Anyone ever play that time agents board and card-game? Hehe, that's where I truly learnt the use of the word 'lynchpin'. It's a pretty word and suitable for chaos logic, ne?
I wonder if and how a corraling of a democratic Russia with a somewhat pacifist past to several years more of fighting against the will of the people would've worked out, and if that might've been possible while preserving democracy... we'll never know.
On another note I would encourage the other Louisianian factions to band together against the vodoo bastards or even intervene if I was close, but it's really fun to watch these unique factions kill each other! Too bad my favorites dies out. Baton Rougue was really kewl!
Fortunately Texas or New England will solve things probably (Virginia seems to be busy). Not sure how I feel about losing a contained result though its for the betterments of the Louisianians.
