It was our understanding that war never existed between our nations, the Imperial Government of Mexico and the Leftist Faction were the only two we were at war with. And you are currently neither. So as far as I know we are at peace, but if it would settle your fears, we will sign peace.
But on one condition, the Union of Mexico will stay out of the affair of the Gulf Alliance and Georgia. No meddling, no offers of hosting peace talks, nothing.

therefore when the Leftist Faction won and gained control over the government, the declaration of war became null and void as now I must either declare war on the new government or back down. I chose the latter.

As you are agreeing to peace this also means that you will renounce all claims on Northern Mexico? We can accept all the other terms provided all Deseret claims are renounced on Mexican lands.

If you will accept our control over them then you might as well renounce your false claims and save both our nations the trouble. We find this unnacceptable. Deseret will renounce its claims on Mexican lands to ensure peace between our nations for all time. If we agree to a Non-Aggression pact there is nothing to stop Deseret from pressing her claims once this expires.

We got those lands in a deal with the then in power Imperial Government, the lands are legally ours, so we cannot renounce them. If a Non Aggression Pact is not enough, then you propose a deal that works for you that does not force us to renounce the lands.
