While England has nothing against Italy's response we do find it odd that they reply to messages addressed to France... you two are close but are you actually reading your better half's mail now tsk tsk
This made me chuckle.
To: UCC
From: France
Where to begin?
First of all, we never promised the Qing anything but protection - protection from without, which is precisely what we gave. They made it abundantly clear that their internal affairs were their own business and we were led to believe they could handle any wayward warlords. We and they were wrong with disastrous consequences.
This war had almost ended, and were it not for your petty grievances and anarchistic standoffishness then it would have ended. That is why the world blames you, and your own inability to provide for your citizens or care about their well-being is why more and more Chinese are supporting the Republic as your decaying government falls to its knees. You may get amnesty if you surrender now, indeed the people would love you for it, but if you prolong it any further then you will only sign millions more Chinese to their death.

From: France
We respect SUSA, at least, because we respect power. But we bid thee, pray, see reason. The UCC is not the hope of the Chinese people. The UCC has caused the death of many millions and outwardly has no care for their lot. In fact, there is no guarantee that the average Chinaman will have a say in the running of their government. They are a regime which is in every way worse than the forces you say you oppose, and Chinese freedom can never exist for as long as it does.
The Republic, on the other hand, has publicly proclaimed the involvement of the individual, on the model of other famous and successful democracies like France, New England, Russia. They are the embodiment of the Chinese people's will, and the nation cannot be stopped. You are wasting everyone's time but especially your own in keeping up the dread government of the Union of Chinese Collectives.
As for your impolite remarks regarding China's eventual fate, we must admit we had no hand in that. Traitors at home and abroad sought to bring down France, and in the process we failed our allies. We are not proud. But we shall avenge them.
