Caporale Vincenzo Fiorentini continued to push rubble aside as his squad searched for any survivors in what used to be a good sized home. He shifted a large piece of debris and saw a hand. He reached for it to see if it was warm and had a pulse. It didn’t.

“Sergente!” he called out. Sergente Generoso Siciliano ran over to see what was going on. “I found another body Sergente.” Said Vincenzo quietly. Generoso understood the feeling. Over the course of the last few days they no longer found survivors, simply bodies. They both worked to free the body from the rubble and then quietly carried it to the tent that was setup as a temporary morgue.

“I fear we may not find anymore survivors, but we must recover as many of the victims as possible and give them the proper respect they deserve. So back to searching caporale.” The caporale saluted his superior and then they both headed back into the disaster area.

As they walked out they heard a commotion coming from the south and saw a Maggiore run up to them. As they started to salute he waved them down and yelled “No time hurry follow me, they found a family who made it to a wine cellar and are still alive!” The three of them ran as fast as they could while grabbing up anyone not already headed in the right direction.

After several hours of backbreaking labor the rescuers would remove the last obstruction to the wine cellar and would rescue the Baresi family. The father, Dante, was the only one who had been injured since he was the last to enter the cellar. He would never regain the full use of his right arm, but he was alive. The mother, Palmira, cradled their four year old daughter, Valentina, as Caporale Vincenzo helped her back to the surface. The whole family had to be dragged to the medical tents because they were weak and falling over themselves to thank every soldier they encountered.

The Baresi family would be the last survivors found from the quake.

Yes, in fact--while agriculture wasn't negotiated trilaterally, the US-Mexico trade liberalization was a great thing for Mexican consumers and US corn producers. Mexico's the 2nd largest importer of US agricultural produce, now; a tremendous new market's opened for American produce and meat, in particular. [1]

Or, were you being sarcastic and trying to play stupid gotcha games based on sound bites, while lacking a deep understanding of comparative advantage?
