A Brave New World Part 3

To: France, New Holland, The Middle Eastern States
From: Mexico

The blockade of the Middle East is gravely irresponsible and foolish. The global economy nearing total recovery is once against plunged into recession due to rash and foolish actions.

Mexico echoes France in demanding that the blockade of the region be ended. Fight all you like but do not drag the rest of the world with you.

To: Guatemala
From: Mexico

Instability within your nation is greatly concerning. We hope that peace and stability returns to the region.

Should you desire it we would be willing to provide assistance to your nation with transitioning to democracy.

To: New Holland, The World
From: Rashid Arabia

After weighing the consequences we would wish to advise New Holland to lift its blockade of the Persian Gulf; we would also wish to advise Persia and Iraq to consider making peace with Arabistan.

It is becoming all to apparent that conflict in the Middle East is unbenificial to the global condition and with this in mind I suggest we come to a peaceful conclusion at the conference suggested by Egypt.

If this recession is to end soon we must come together and realize that continued conflict will only ruin us all; Arabistan has held and continuing war against it will only put all involved in peril.

People of Guatemala, good evening.

I come before you for perhaps not the last time, but for the last time as a dictator. I have ruled this country for almost a quarter of a century, and I am the last of a line of dictators. Perhaps I have gone soft in the head, or perhaps I daydreamed too much of a Guatemala where security does not go hand-in-hand with oppression and scapegoats. Either way, an era comes to an end. I would like to take a moment to reflect upon this era.

59 years ago, this country was full of squabbling politicians and corrupt leaders. These men would have seen Guatemala fall before they would agree with each other on anything. A year later, the people placed their trust with a hero, Carlos Hernandez, who vowed to do away with such corrupt practices. He was not able to do it within his lifetime. Hernandez was truly a great man, and I am honored that this country would place the same level of trust in me. His successor, my father, was not as great a man as Hernandez, but no matter what anyone says of him, he loved this country with all his heart. I believe this love blinded him, causing him to seek the support of lisists elements in our country.

I digress. Enough of the past. My people, we must look to the future. Next year, I will retire from office, and there will once again be elections in this country. As my era ends, the people of Guatemala will choose what the next era will be like. I will issue a caution to each and every citizen before you vote next year. The government has corruption in it, and if you do not remain vigilant against it, each regime will become more corrupt than the previous. Do not rely on others to make the system work, it requires personal responsibility and personal integrity. Any man can do what is convenient, but a great man does what is right.

Thank you for the honor of ruling such a people as yourselves, and I will be forever in your debt for keeping Guatemala from collapse.

Good Night and God Bless

We thank France and China for their offers to help us with investigations, we also request that China will help with investigations as to the Sunda plot to clarify our name.

As regards the world community we have already lifted our blockade as our goal of supporting Rashid Arabia in its conquest of Oman is complete. We're a bit disappointed with the Mexican response, and feel that perhaps we should align more with China, but we appreciate your honest words on the matter.

China would be happy to host such a conference. We are going to take the liberty of inviting New Holland as well.

OOC: I'll probably do a group, that way we don't need to worry about coordinating a time.

Excellent! We thank you for this invitation.

From Alain Lefevre, Prime Minister of New France:
Spoiler :
Greetings, neighbors of the North!
I hope this message finds you well. Recently I have been troubled by the oil scarcity caused by violence among the Arab states. I propose we enter talks to discuss a long-term oil cooperative, where each of our nations could submit funds to research the areas with greatest potential gains. If each of us were to submit funds, we could certainly achieve more than we would alone.

With great pride in our Northern heritage and hope for our economic prosperity, Alain Lefevre, P.M.

Why waste the lives of our citizens needlessly? You have caused this war by refusing to remove your forces. We will stop once you evacuate from Macedonia so long as you do not molest the Macedonians or destroy their nation any further.

We still demand the 3ep for your lies about the Republic as well. Said funds would go towards Macedonian reconstruction.

Meet these and the war ends. Do not and we will destroy you.

Ciao.

Our terms remain as before.

As stated when I started this NES, we are rapidly approaching the anticipated date of December 7. Due to this and a busy schedule for the weekend, I'll be mostly out of communication for the next ten days or so. I should be checking the thread and diplomacy once a day, but for now I'm not going to set a date in stone for the next update until after I hit 85.

Conversely, you have unfortunately chosen the route whereby - when you man up and actually send some soldiers in - they get massacred in large numbers and you find Macedonia destroyed by your bombers, all supposedly to achieve an aim that we have pledged to carry out anyway.

From Bulgaria

Imperialism shines out of the every orifice of the Italian Republic. We have promised to free Macedonia, so Italy bombs it. How could they ever do that if they actually desired to work in the Macedonian people's interest? Macedonia will shortly be as a province of Italy after a pseudo-referendum, or if Italy is too cowardly to risk rigging the elections and being noticed by the enormous hound that sits on its little fluffy poodle tail while it yaps at us, it will be some corrupt puppet of the mob that rules Rome. See the tyrrany for what it is, and tremble with fear at Italy's power, and then stop trembling, and think for yourselves. What can you do to stop a new Rome with all its hideous barbarities getting hold of the world and bringing about an age of new Catilines and new Neros and new Diocletians?

Your missives are wearing. The world has seen you for what you are and as I said there is no reason to waste our soldiers when your own people will force you to see reason soon enough.

The Republic says what it means and does what it says. We warned you for years our patience was limited, we warned you to leave Macedonia so we could repair her scars and then let her people vote on the future and we would abide by whatever decision they made.

The Republic told you to get out of Macedonia or we would crush your military capacity for generations. Why should our soldiers pay for your sins when they do not need to?

All that aside do you really think you can goad us like a bully into wasting lives? Unlike you we do care about the citizens we rule and as such have always treated them the best we can. Also as we have stated many times we do not want or need to invade Bulgaria. What would be the point of it when this delivers the message perfectly?

Our terms only changed when you started fabricating lies about the Republic to the international community. And even then our demands were simple and easy to meet. But still you chose the path of death and destruction for Bulgaria. The Republic is saddened it had to raise its fists in violence but the Macedonians' cries will no longer go unheeded.

Mildly disturbingly, my college blocks that weblink as "pornography"!
