A New Dawn Beta Builds

This has never happened in any of my games, so I specifically looked into it and AFAIK razing a holy city does not relocate it. This only happens via an inquisition. Although I am only going on what documentation I can find.

Did the "abandon city" option get taken out?

No. Control A should still work.

I (think) I found a bug in Financial Stability calculations. It hasn't been confirmed by Jdog yet, so I'm not 100% sure, but the calculations were comparing backwards, making it so that having a gold rate over 50% was bad, instead of the other way around.

Anyway, I only need to test out the Static resource yields, then I'll release beta5...

Friday Release?

Okay installed the latest beta as of last weekend.. Long time civ player but never played RoM or AND till recently. Great Mod first of all!

but the reason for signing up and posting is to inform you that there seems to be a bug in the beta I've just installed. It seems that after a certain point, buildings are no longer allowed to be created? I thought It was a civic change or something that prevented them or maybe a building limit (cause this is my first game), but soon found out after a few turns.. that this was not the case.

Apparently all of my cities suffer from this flaw or bug, don't know what is causing it? Will try to see if I can post a screen shot to show you what I mean. But suffice to say, that I have about 12 cities and all are only allowed to build workers, missionaries, land&sea units only, with the exception of wealth/culture/esp. etc. NO BUILDINGS!

I see that I'm not the only person who has this problem, any ideas?

I know, and I've already corrected it for the next release.

Please remember, this is a public beta, it is not representative of the mod nor any of it's final features. Try AND 1.55 if stability is a concern.

Okay will do, thanks.

Not to be TOO nosey, but what was the problem? If you dont might saying.:crazyeye:

I left some old code in CvMainInterface because I was trying to get it to sort buildings based on their description in the City Construct Queue. I never got it to work and abandoned it, but didn't remove all the code. Some of it came to life and interfered.

Ah yes, the leave stuff behind incident, i've done that alot of times already:p

Well i shouldn't have anymore problems with machines and memory, i took your advice and went out and bought a new desktop.

A Dell XPS Studio 8100, with 8 GB memory(but only 4Gb installed now), 1 TB hard drive, Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860, HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GH50N, Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/5 Series/3400 Series SATA RAID Controller, ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series 1024 Mb.

So i had better not have any problems:lol:

Yeah sure, you betcha. I am sooo glad i took your advice, thx

I have not had any problems, except for those buildings whatsoever now, is it the : g_buildings = None, that was causing the problem?

Yeah, something like that, I think. I haven't had the issue myself, so I can't tell. Try my update CvMainInterface...

I am playing some games and I found two problems:

On two out of 4 games I am not allowed to build the Lighthouse no matter what I do. On the other 2 games I was allowed. I had Seafaring in all 4 games.

Also, in the last two games, I haven't been given the option to build the Colussus, even though I have Bronze Working and Forge.

I am playing version 1.55. So far that is all I have found. Is this something you have fixed in later versions?

I have never heard of any bugs with those wonders. Are you sure they haven't been built already?

The lighthouse I'm reffering to is the building that requires seafaring, not the wonder Great Lighthouse. Sorry, I meant I have Sailing not seafaring. In the technology tree in Sailing it doesn't say it allows lighthouse. Again, in my other two games, the lighthouse building was offered correctly.

As far as the Colussus wonder is concerned, I am keeping an eye on the messages and I haven't seen it announced that it has been built. I like playing with the Seafaring trait and most of the time I pocket the Colussus. That's why it stood out to me like a sore thumb. The lighthouse building is of course also essential with the Seafaring trait. I simply am not given the choice to build it and I have had Sailing for over 80 turns on both games. I'm playing with two computers to speed up bug catching.

? I double checked (and you can look at the tech tree in my sig) and Sailing does unlock the lighthouse and shows up fine. If it's not appearing in your tech tree, I'd like to see a screenshot. I haven't touched either building at all in AND, nor has Zappara modified them in RoM, so they are still stock BTS buildings...

Maybe it is my installs. A strange thing just happened in one of the games. All the water tiles in one of the cities increased one food without the lighthouse being built or offered. I installed 2.8 RoM on both, followed by the 2.81 patch. Then I installed your 1.53 AND followed by the 1.55 patch.

I did notice something strange when I started RoM. The introduction screen is the CIV warlords screen with three small words: Rise of Mankind in the upper right side instead of the normal Earth RoM screen. The music is also the Warlods music. The funny thing is I don't even own Civ Warlords. I did the install 3 times in both computers with the same result. I downloaded both the game and the patch from Atomic. I just bought two new Alienware computers and that's why I had to reinstall everything. In my old Alienware I never had a problem with the game or the start screen. The only difference is I had Vista in the old and Windows 7 in both new ones. The downloaded .rar 2.8 is the exact same file I had from the old install of months ago. Really strange. No idea how to solve my dilemma. I would appreciate any ideas you may have. Thanks.

On second thought, don't worry about it Afforess. You have a lot of important stuff to do. I'm getting together with my other 6 Rise of Manking fanatical buddies this weekend. I'm sure they will find the answer I'm searching for.

By the way, we are all able to play MP in ROM as long as we have No Barbarians and no AI civs. Our OOS errors come when we attack Barbs or AI's, not humans. This weekend we are all getting together to try AND 1.55 with our lan setup. It should work the same as RoM. Thanks for all your great unselfish work.
