I'm struggling to find a balance between world size, sea level, and number of civs that will accommodate both the ridiculously high requirement for oxford university and the type of game I like.

Just edit your local copy of BuildingInfos to reduce the number of Universities required by the <PrereqBuildingClass> for Oxford University.

(Caveat: Only easy if you are proficient at XML modding.)

Maybe it's just late and I'm missing something in the civilopedia, but my cottages seem to be adding food, but no commerce. Playing as Dido, Americans, on Eternity if any of that matters.

Also, all my civ4 save games have vanished (which isn't a big problem to me as I've been waiting on this and RiFE 1.3 which should also be out shortly, but might bother others)

Barter subtracts one commerce from cottages. ;)

Okay, another thing about university/libraries. I play on the islands map, so I'm limited on how many cities I can have without taking over a rival island. I can squeeze 6-8 cities into small world setting, and I need 10 minimum to build enough libraries so I can build the 5 universities for oxford. Turning down sea level to get more space just makes it so there's no ocean between islands and civs invade way too early for my liking.

So I bumped up world size to standard and regenerate map until I get an island with enough space for 10 cities, only to find that now every university wants 3 libraries... I guess it increases with world size? No amount of regenerating will get me an island that can fit the 18 cities oxford university requires now.

You could try playing a continental map with the option "Start Anywhere". Then regenerate the map until you get a continent you're alone on. Personally, I'd rather have neighbors to conquer, er borrow milk from...;)

Thanks, looks like it worked according to civilopedia. I wouldn't have known where to look to change these sort of things.

I used to play continents a lot but lately I like to just have a small island to myself and let everybody develop more or less evenly instead of grabbing as much land as possible from the getgo.

Good News on the Bug-Fixing Front:

I Believe I have Limited Religions & Choose Religions working correctly. (I hope...)
Automated Patrol Units will not attempt to load onto ships!
I fixed Malchar's waiting for civilizations bug!

Thanks a lot! I wanted my Confucianism. :)

I think there's definitely something with Barbarians. I'm the most tech. advanced, I don't even have gunpowder yet, and I just watched a stack of musketeer barbarians take over an AI city. The AI was using horsemen/crusaders. I was pretty surprised when I saw musketeers...

Hi,

I got stuck in my game. I was wondering if you can help me out.
I'm playing Mongolian on a Erebus map, advanced start Modern Era.
I'm using AND 1.74 over ROM 2.92.
The game won't go beyond the turn in the savegame attached.
As i pass it just crash.

Great work btw!!

Thanks Afforess, I was pretty sure the cottage thing was an oversight on my end. However, I remain confused about my saved games. I've never done anything funky with the file structure and the only thing that's changed since yesterday afternoon was installing RoM 2.92 (and 2.91 initially) and AND 1.74 and the patch. My old save games appear to be in OS (C:)/users/<myname>/Documents/My Games/Beyond The Sword/Saves where they're supposed to be, but Civ4 apparently can't see them. I can save and reload a game for RoM/AND, but I have no idea where it's actually getting stored.

Also, the file that does things like set the turn interval for autosaves appears to have been overwritten, or similarly ignored, as I'm only getting autosaves every third or fourth turn. I had set that to every turn, but that's probably been literally years ago, and I'm not quite sure where it was (so I can't check), but I'm going to poke around some for it.

Strange CyrusFan.

Yes, that's the right file Arroccalia. I will look at your save, and hopefully fix it.

Okay, I found a comment about autosaves and got that set back to 1. The only thing I can think of I've done out of the ordinary was that I tried to run a Play Now game to clear all the options last night when it wasn't clear whether RoM 2.91 or 2.92 was needed and the game crashed in the process. I don't know why that would reset the configuration settings that are only in that file, as that's never happened before. And I still have no idea where the AND save is going.

I'm running 1.74 Patch A and I can't seem to ever construct a Fish Market - even with fish in the city radius, work boats in place, and actively being worked.

What I'm noticing is that whatever building I have constructed, from Fisherman's Hut all the way to Jumplane Portal - the build requirement on the market changes to any one of the OTHER buildings.

Maybe it's just easier to have "coast" be a prereq for the building instead of this strange (and apparently buggy) bunch of buildings?

I've tried looking for this on my own, but I can't even find the Fish Market in the BuildingInfos file. It just doesn't seem to exist.

It only requires one of those buildings, it's an OR requirement.

Anyway, the Fish Market is working fine for me; are you sure you meet all the prerequisites?

Oh, I'll be sure to adjust the hover text to be less confusing, okay? ;)

I am unable to build "Parade Grounds" (they do need walls) because i upgraded my "Walls" to "High Walls" ! Is this intended  ? I am also unable to build a "Seminary", not with the Civics "State Church" or with "Free Church" activ !

...by the way....great mod :goodjob: !!

I'm very sure I meet the prereqs - the text is quite clear - you need the Fishing Tech and any one of the buildings listed (they replace), in addition to actually having the resource in the city vicinity, with the Fishing Boat Improvement placed on the resource.

Unfortunately I still can't seem to build it. :(

EDIT: Any chance you could tell me where the building is listed in the BuildingInfos file (I am assuming it's the RoM file as that's the only one I can find) - there doesn't seem to be anything named FISH_MARKET or anything similar.

Hmm, Okay; I found a situation where I couldn't build it either. Looking into...

After installing this mod i got this error during the beginning loading screen "GAMEOPTION_NO_INQUISITIONS in info class was incorrect Current XML file is: xml\Units/CIV4UnitInfos.xml" the it loads to the main menu. But when i try to start any game it loads to like 25% then CTD. I have windows7 64bit computer RoM worked fine until i add this modmod any help would be appreciated.
