The only viable place anywhere is underground. First place access lift, then place a hangar and small radar. Once done, put a living quarters, stores, hyperwave decoder, in that order. Slowly expand until I have 3 hangars with advanced ships, lots of living space, two high-tech labs, two workshops, multiple stores, an alien containment (yes), 4 fusion defenses and a grav shield. And, oh, a psi lab for learning how to mind control people.

Success is guaranteed. I will need 100 scientists, 50+ engineers and a dozen grunts or so. Who wants to join?

What has the purchase of this hamlet has to do with creating a sovereign micronation? I really don't get it!

I think it is a good place to start one (hence the title ). It has basic infrastructure (Internetz! Bus stop!) and it is in a relatively remote location. You can´t just put a tent at the Brandenburg gate and declare your own independent Brandenburg gate nation and start collectiong transit fees - well, you could, in theroy - it will not get as much attention if some little hamlet near the border starts acting weird (if anybody cares at all).

I will sell laser cannons as they are very profitable. But no one will get any of the plasma or the elerium I will have a million corpses for those interested, though. Anyone with alien necrophilia?

If I'd have the need for a new-founded nation by myself, I would choose the unihabited, extremely isolated areas in Northern Canada or some remoted island in the Pacific ocean.
