226. Hannibal's march across the Alps was just a fake propoganda stunt as it is general knowledge that mountains are impassable.

227. The internal combustion engine did little to improve faster transportation since airships had been in service long before it was developed.

Having the population on NY reduced from 30 to 7 would have implications for the residents of course.

267. You can have Anti-tank soldiers before having Tanks.

Svart. Fair enough. But in real life, Tanks came long before the earliest RPGs or Bazookas.

Sure thing... but you build some antitank units before tanks show off? No. And maybe you would like to build them when a more advanced enemy attacks with tanks? Sure, you would, and you don't need to be able to build tank to make them.

Well you couldn't have an anti-tank before anyone has any idea what a tank is.

"One day, large metal machines will attack us. They will be called tanks"
"Oh no! We better defend ourselves from them!!!"

Totally! Some people play this game so much they must not be able to distinguish in between reality and just a game that simulates (oftentimes erroneously) reality. And thus understand the nature of this thread, which is to show aspects of Civ IV that are historically inaccurate.

Thus the technology to invent anti-tank tactics and weapons (which would use some type of rocket propelled projectile) would not come about from studying Artillery but from studying Rocketry. That is the logical and historical progression with that technology. And it and this thread don't have to do with whether it is good Civ IV tactics to build Anti-tanks before having Tanks so as you can defend against them.

it's enough that someone else has got tanks... you could not be able to build tanks.

269. Gunships can't capture cities, so even if a city is completely defenseless, the citizens of the city are completely safe as long as the soldiers stay in their helicopters.
