Indeed I find it quite repulsive that other people want to control what people can or cannot do with their body. I think the woman's opinion should count much more than the opinion of anyone else because it's her life and her body that are affected by the pregnancy and eventual birth of a baby.

The child may have no chance in life due to deformation, etc.

Not protecting embreyos and foetuses from murder is nothing less than age discrimination. If you say it's because they aren't sentient, then why keep people in comas alive? Why protect newborns?
If your position is valid, then you should have no qualms about killing children under one year old, or the mentally infirm of any age, or raping/killing coma patients. If you have problems with any of this, you are a hypocrite.

Abortion must be a free-choice during first 4 months.
People which whine so much about this should came to Romania and see the disastous result of a complete interdiction of abortion and contraceptive measure for 7 years between 1982 and 1989 : abandoned child, malformations, death of many young woman and so on.

Of course, abortions are possible without medical doctors, and even without those nasty coathangers in back alleys: a pregnant woman can merely "fall" down the stairs and have a miscarriage, or overexert themselves somehow and do it. They have the ABILITY to be sentient. And being sentient was not the paramount importance. What is important is that they can feel something. Without nervous system, any human just do not exist. You can replace ANYTHING in the human body with artificial parts without the person changing. You can put artificial heart, limbs, organs and so on. All BUT the brain. If you remove the brain, the person is gone.
So it's very logical that I consider the apparition of a nervous system to be the real birth of a new, independant life.
Just shows again your lack of understanding and your fanatic bigotry. I explained quite well why I consider any fetus without a nervous system not being a human being. Try to disprove THAT before waving your Holy Flag and calling anyone outside your blind little way a criminal or a hypocrite.
