Affordable Care Act

Just a testament to his endurance.

As expected, you are lacking in knowledge of basic facts. Allow Kaiser to educate you.

That's hilarious. Were you trying for irony.

Well yes. They've been asking to fix things for awhile. The Republicans blocked attempts to fix until they had control. Then they built a policy by the 17% and for the 17% and of the 17%
Yeh. We saw that when the new website rolled out. Right.

There are 10 points of mandated coverage. This is over broad, has significant hot-button value and is driving the premiums up. The Democrats were not trying to change that. It was not the individual mandate. That is still in place, though the IRS has been ordered not to enforce. What were they trying to fix, exactly? When did they have any plan for change that did not involve single payer?

So you're denying that the Kaiser poll is real, or . . . ?

No. That is not driving premiums up.

I wish you had a grasp of even one issue that you try to discuss authoritatively.

Why that caveat? That was polling above 51% as of last fall.

I mean when it comes to polling, you can't really say that 51% is 3x 17% ... but still ...

Heck. Both Trump and McCain ran on high-risk pools. So kinda everyone gets it that a public option is part of it

I had to google to see who said it originally :(

I had to read these posts over and over and over to finally figure out what the blueballs you guys were talking about and I was too stubborn to Google it:shake:

I should have just given up, cause now that I finally got it I'm embarrassed:blush:

More accurately, he was trolling.

This covers my position a bit better. Ryan sent EMTs to fight a fire.

Here comes the Republican fireman !
Healthcare for everyone SOLVED !

With Rual Red states aging population, refusal to expand medicare and sky rocketing cost, its probably what Obamacare will soon look like down the road. Saddly though the Republican solution seems to be just the same but faster. Either way the US political system is broken

The irony is that the fireman wants to save the books, but can't. It doesn't really work, because the fire was already going before the fireman arrived. I suppose that putting Kathleen Sebelius in the suit makes some sense, but she wouldn't want to save the books.

Cute idea, but it doesn't fit the situation.

After three failed attempts to repeal ACA, the Trump administration is using its regulatory authority to remove one of the more controversial requirements--birth control. Read that both birth control and not abortion. Not yet.

This is a very big deal. It is the first significant move showing the Trump administration intends to try living with ACA. Naturally, outrage has followed. Lawsuits are also in the offing.

Not a big deal, just co-pay if you want birth control coverage included with health insurance
Iam still waiting for this amazing Trumpcare that will cover everyone that will be so easy.

Apparently healthcare's not so easy after all. Who knew?

Great news! Hopefully we will see a decrease in female promiscuity.
Threaten women with pregnancy to get them to stop having sex. Pretty mean-spirited. What is your plan for curtailing male promiscuity?

The Democrats keep voting it down, and John McCain of course.:nono: Of course, the next logical step is to make it possible to exclude abortion. This could be a trial balloon for the big fight.

But I want too see these people get bent over and get it good and hard /s
I thinking that most will just keep voting Republican regardless

Its pretty sad state of affairs.

Clay County’s only hospital closed its doors in 1983, long before Kinsell, who is now in her sixties, arrived and became its only doctor. “It’s a bad place to live,”
“She’s going bankrupt treating everyone that comes in,” he said. “Most have no money, no Internet access, no other basic care. Many don’t have insurance. How much longer can she do that?

“In all fairness, Obamacare, as much as I was for it—and I’m on it myself—didn’t affect us much at all. The first year it came out, southwest Georgia had the second-highest premium costs in the nation, after Vail, Colorado. And because not many people make enough to be allowed to buy into it, very few people around here signed up for it. We also were not allowed to be a provider, because people were allowed to pick and choose providers. Then, of course, Georgia did not expand Medicaid. That’s why about forty per cent of our patients are uninsured.

“With Trumpcare, we’d be going from bad to slightly worse, especially with the proposed Medicaid limits. There’s talk of, down the road, pregnant women might not be covered. Disabled people, too. Reduced special services. We’d have more limited funding. We have a private sixty-bed nursing home here in Fort Gaines, around the corner, and I gather that ninety-five per cent are Medicaid patients. There’s only one person paying cash there.

“People who are politically active and educated are generally pretty upset about the state of health care in this county. I had a wealthy, Trump-supporting retired pathologist tell me, ‘Shoot, we need a single-payer system.’ I was surprised to hear him say that. But the low levels of literacy and engagement of people here—I think a lot of them just aren’t even aware of these discussions going on. The uninsured don’t have anything or expect to get anything

I always wonder what percentage of pro-life supporters are really more focused on this issue (ie discouraging fornication). I'm thinking its most, since it seems to also be tied to religion for so many of them.
