That soccer map I posted got a lot of criticism over in /r/MLS too.. just so you guys know. The data it's based on isn't solid, but it isn't too bad either. Basically, from what I remember (I have a fever now, am drugged, etc. so I can't remember %!&*!) it was only based on one variable, or two variables, while ignoring variables that should have probably been included.

Having said that, it's not a bad map, it gets the idea across well enough. Error margin is high, but the general sense of which parts of the country are soccer hotspots and which parts aren't seem to be fairly accurate.

Sorry I've been putting this off. I don't know if I'll have access to a computer in the near future, but I might as well start.

So those who already have claimed parts of Europe need to come up with a name and can ask for a colour if they want a specific one.

It's over? I thought we were going to go to war.

I was originally afraid I couldn't keep up interest, and I don't have any good idea of how I should moderate it, but if anyone else also want to continue that I might try to do something with it.

Naturally, I'll have to refound the glorious Technocratic Hellenic Empire, with its currency as the Neo-Drachma and its capital at Alexiopolis (former Istanbul), reigning over Greece, its islands, Macedonia, southern Albania & Bulgaria, European Turkey and the Asia Minor coast. Our patron saint is (of course) Agios Alexios of the Tsiprian Orthodox Church.

English protestants are 'anglican', no? 'Germanic protestant' is a rather strange term to have, moreso in the context of current lack of interest in religion.

Orthodox is pretty much the same in euro orthodox countries anyway, i mean there are even foreign monesteries at Athos as noted in the other thread

Btw, they seem to have conveniently left out other orthodox countries in Europe, eg Georgia and Armenia.

And yes, Georgia and Armenia are in Europe, they are in the Caucasus region which is the land border of Europe to Asia in the south.

I didn't know if west india man meant the island Great Britain or the UK. I went with the latter for now.

Anyway, I haven't coloured in your empire Arakhor, because Tolni already claimed Bulgaria and Macedonia, and cybrxkhan an area around Constantinople if I remember correctly (so that has to be settled).

Also Lucy and Eran (who asked for Andorra) needs to come up with names

On the map Warpus posted: I think it's kind of silly. The "Germanic protestants" in scandinavia have more in common with "uralic protestants" than with the church of england or calvinism (in the netherlands)

It's a map that attempts to show both linguistic groups and religious affiliations, as shaped by history.
