Couldn't they have split Italian up? and why the heck do they have Sardinian as an Eastern Romance language? It's Southern!

Alsace is still German-speaking? ANNEXATION TIME

I wish :(

The Celtic areas are way too big, too. No way that Irish and Scottish Gaelic are spoken in a majority in most of those areas.

Sorbs, too. There's just sixty thousand of em, that's not enough to show up on the map even when they are concentrated in Lusatia.

Look! Proof Poland isn't Eastern European! *cough* Western Slavic language *cough*

... i should give up trying...

Last time I was there, eveerybody was speaking French. Fools, they don't even know what their mother tongue is!

(though it's fair to say most people knew some German.)

I fail to see why Chebsko (the westernmost tip of the Czech territory) is coloured as German - the "ethnic Germans" in the Czech Rep. speak Czech and you have zero chance of recognizing them, since German surnames are pretty common even among ethnic Czechs.

EDIT: where the heck have the Basques come from?

Yeah this map seems inaccurate, was what I was trying to highlight. :p

I'm sure you were good-willed when you posted that, but it's really one of the most inaccurate maps on Wiki.

Almost every border region in France, Britain, and many other countries are completely wrong. If it's meant to show a majority of speakers of a certain language, it's painfully wrong. Unless it somehow is meant to show minority languages in many places, hey, I was not aware that people in Wales and Scotland don't speak English, and Bretons and Alsatians don't speak French and 1/3 of northern Romania speaks Ukrainian and Russian (WTH?? :dubious:).

I'm just posting it because there's not nearly enough maps in this thread. :p
