Do you use Firefox? If so, Go to Tools, Options, Privacy, Settings, make sure Cache is checked, and click clear now. You might need to retype in passwords and stuff for websites, but it fixed the problem with the pictures not showing up for me atleast.

A map of a theoretical Union of the Germanic-language countries and their empires, during the New Imperialism/WW1 period. All are in black.

Some ahistorical territories(all in dark gray) are added: The British mandates in the Middle East following WW1, and much of the Portuguese possessions. The idea is that Britain and the Dutch, by combining their forces, would obviously want to destroy the one country that was scattered across their empires, therefore guaranteeing naval and commercial dominance. In North America, territories would be taken by the American component, on the advice of the British, to dominate New World commerce(the Panama Canal especially).

That was a thing I purposely left out, alongside some of Belgium, the Congo and Portuguese West Africa. While Austria itself was Germanic, it'd be kind of hard to join any Union due to the diversity, while some, i.e. Russia and France, would NOT approve of the Union being any more indomitable.

A sequel, featuring a "Romance Union" in orange, and potential member states/conquests in a shade of orange-yellow.

Naturally, no Germanic Union would go without consequence. France, Spain, Portugual(or what's left of it), and Italy would pool their resources to rival it. France itself has already been endowed with concessions of southern Belgium, parts of Luxembourg, and the Belgian Congo on the part of the Germanics.

The Romance Union would take up most of the rest of Africa, and possibly try to redeem the Italian failure to take Ethiopia. As well, in Latin America, many states might join up with Europe, or negotiate for some sort of inclusion. The reason? The Monroe Doctrine was the main thing that prevented European reconquest of the Americas, and was backed by Britain and the USA primarily. If both those countries stopped enforcing it; in fact, they may try to conquer the Latin Americans themselves, then naturally they'd be pushed into a position favorable to the Romance Union.
