Here's one for the Turks

Most surprised at the significant community in Japan.

The Armenian diaspora
That map (or rather the lagend) has a couple oddities:
The ranges are switched from standard. At first I assumed there was an error and second the ranges are not continuous.

Emigres from pre-civil war era returning to take part in glorious democracy?

Net migration rate. Can someone explain Afghanistan, please? :dubious:
Afghanistan settling down, some of the millions of refugees that left during the really bad times are returning?

I doubt there's over a milion Turks in Syria. It was rather Turkey that got the mixed areas, not Syria. I've met some people of turkish descent in Syria, but I don't recall any place where they formed a really big community, while the Kurds, Armenians and Assyrians are visible and definitely have some places where they are prticurarily numerable.

No Turks in China or Turkmenistan?

At some pount this year I saw a report saying thousands of Pakistanis were feeling to Afghanistan because the quiet parts of Afghanistan are a hell of a lot better than the bad parts of Pakistan, I'm guessing thats it. Can't believe Ireland has as many Armenians as India.

I didn't even know there were 12,000 Armenians here in the Czech Rep.

There are alot of Armenians in Poland, so that wasn't surprising.

What I find strange is Poland being net - in terms of immigration. We've been getting so much immigrants lately, and all those Poles in Germany, France and England are migrating back to Poland in bunches.

But than again, we have a good 1 M + poles who just take advantage of the currency exchange, and work in England and live in Poland.

One wonders why they don't go to one of the other neighboring countries much-better-than-Afghanistan, or just get on a boat and go to the West.

Poland has negative immigration.
