Red Alert involves Adolf Hitler being erased from history by Einstein's time traveling, and instead Stalin became the aggressor in the Second World War.

Ah yes, I was aware of that. :)

I didn't know by 'inspired' you meant that you were expanding upon the ideas of Red Alert, however...

Well, still a pretty neat concept. I wouldn't be surprised if splitting the USSR up like that could somehow bite the Allies in the ass, however... nevermind the plot of RA2.

RA1 was meant to lead into Tiberian Dawn anyway. :p

BTW, destroying the USSR right after World War II would be very difficult and highly improbable for the Allies, even with nuclear weapons. The only sure way to cripple the USSR would be a sneak nuclear strike on Moscow and all the major industrial cities even before hostilities begin, which couldn't really be done.

Only about a half of Indian pop. is lactose-intolerant according to the map. It's funny - one would expect India to evolve similarly to China and phase-out cattle farming (too inefficient when you're so overpopulated). I blame religious taboo related to killing cows for the difference.

Doesn't surprise me, large parts of India were really only good for raising cattle until the introduction of mechanical pumps.

For the Lactose Intolerance thing, I'm surprised to see Latin America like so, since milk is so commonly drank and beef is the #1 thing here. Not to mention they make the best beef here (Argentinian beef ... AMAZING)

Native American genes, I guess.

They'll be rejoined with the motherland soon enough, don't you worry.

We already are joined with Bohemia :p

Thai proposal for a Kra Trang Canal to steal divert some traffic from Singapore.

Various change of plans (9A marks the latest proposal) :

Sounds like a white elephant project to me; the peninsula isn't big enough to warrant it.

There is the issue of "national integrity". Nationalists don't like the south being cut off from the rest of the country. The main problem though is cost; mountainous terrain is a major obstacle, and port facilities needed to be improved or built from scratch if the canal is to compete with Singapore.

Apparently, one proposal involves blowing up the mountains with nukes (it was a Japanese proposa, too). Now there's talk of the canal project again as the Chinese are taking an interest.

Strategic considerations are usually cited, although, I agree with you there.

I though about contesting this. Then I thought about how crazy Malaysia's internal politics are and decided that this probably could have been a significant political issue. :s

Ok.. So I was doing some work, and the provinces are pretty much done in Poland, Slovakia, Baltic Area and Belarus-Ukraine.

Poland has roughly the same amount of provinces as Castille does on 1399, and Poland's provinces are somewhat poorer so I do not think this will be overpowered.

I edited Czech Republic to Winner's demends, as well as fix Slovakia.

Baltic Area's look great and will look even better once I'm done with all the new Baltic Countries.

Paradox squished some parts of the map, and Belarus and Ukraine turned out somewhat ********, but it is probably the best that could be done.

Map is for the most part done, but I still have to do some stuff like positioning of province names, as well as renaming some stuff.

One problem is Silesia... I am trying to figure out what to do with it while retaining game balance, historical value and aesthetic reasons... I could add in 1 of the following provinces: Opole, Czestochowa and Ostrava, but I don't know which one would be best.

Opole was sort of the capital of Upper Silesa, until Katowice took that over (or Czestochowa..) So I don't know if it makes sense to have both Upper Silesia and Opole. I think I will most likely include Ostrava.

While you have done an excellent job modding this and it would be real fun to play this, modern borders on an EUIII map makes me cringe a bit... Oh god those borders are horrible.

Why does Denmark have a province in Sweden and why is East Prussia German?

I will laugh when a canal allows Malaysia to seize all the land south of it.

WWM expands timeline to 1918.

I started at the bookmark of 1914, and spent an hour gifting provinces to other countries and making vassals and stuff to show the new provinces made as well as countries shapes with corrected borders.

Don't worry, the game does not start like that.

Denmark has a Swedish Province and East Prussia is German because that is how they were like in 1914, and I didn't bother to change it.

A person living in the US (usually a citizen as well) with Chinese heritage, possibly born in China itself.

I like this term. You are both invested in the two superpowers of the future so whoever wins you can claim allergience :D

There would be a big cut through the middle of the country filled with water. it would essentially make the south an island.

We're talking about a canal, right? And not some giant trench that's going to split the peninsula in two??

@tlo the map looks good, but some of the borders are a bit off, especially in the west and the east.
