Commonwealth of Three Nations:

What is the third nation? And what's the date of the map?

The Holy League are in various shades of maroon/pink, The Concert in various shades of blue.

The Atlantic Union, the Syrian Empire, the South American Republic, and Bharat are unaligned.

Ruthenia (Ukraine). Basically scenario here is, that after Steven Bathory, PLC get`s different set of elective kings. They have more tolerant policy towards Ruthenian peasants, and thus better relations with them. Eventually, Kiev area, Chernigov and Zaporozhia is given some degree of autonomy, similar to that of Grand Duchy of Lithuania (this was proposed at some point in OTL). This 'butterfly' away Khmielnitski uprising, and that in turn prevents Swedish deluge. Without these disasters, Commonwealth manages to not loose its power like in OTL. Ducal Prussia never escapes it`s political orbit, while Transylvania and Moldavia enters it after several wars with Ottoman Empire. Date is 1780, as indicated in lower left portion of the map.

Areas in Europe whence came my ancestors (where known):

I think it would be interesting if others added theirs to the map. Anyone? :)

Here's mine.

I'm Upper Silesians. Some of my ancestors came from Brest area, and somewhere in what is now Ukraine. Don't know exactly though, Somewhere in Galicia, or northern Podolia. I believe the Russians deported his family to somewhere like Szczecin or something.

My Great Great Grandmother married some guy from Styria, Don't know if it was Northern (German) Styria or Southern (Slovene) Styria.

My Spanish side came from Galicia (the other one :p) or nothern Spain, (Cantabria area). Elsewhere, Norwegians settled Normandy, and my ancestors went to Southern France a few centuries afterwards, before getting in possesion of a plantation in Haiti, where they became rich. Somewhere down the line someone messed with a black slave women and now I have some African genes. During the Haitian war of independence, my Grandfather escaped to Venezuela while probably the rest of his family was tortured/killed by Haitians, if not, they probably escaped to Colombia or Venezuela. Regardless, my Grandfather lost in contact with them.

Anyway, there my Grandfather met my Grandmother, a descendent from Galicia/Northern Spain immigrants to Venezuela.

By far the vast majority of them came from Swabia (Baden-Württemberg, Alsace-Lorraine, Northeast Switzerland).

A large chunk from Southern England.

One from Paris. One was a Cherokee Indian. Some were "Scots-Irish" so I only shaded Ireland and Southern Scotland.

Scots-Irish very often refers to nordies, so you may want to sdhade the north too.

Thanks! I had no idea, really. I didn't shade in Northern Ireland either, apparently.

I meant, that I didn't know exactly where they were from. All of the others I can pinpoint a county/Kreis and sometimes even an actual town. But the Scots-Irish line kept no record of where they originated.

red- places my ancestors definitely lived in

orange - ancient Armenia, I'm partly Armenian.

yellow - potential Squonk's ancestors' habitats:
somewhere around Palestine, if the rumours of some jewish origin of my grandfather are true.
Crimea - because Armenians that moved to Poland/Ukraine were the ones that settled in Crimea earlier on.

Silesia and both Saxonies - the place part of my family comes from was settled by people from Silesia and Saxony. So it's possible that I may descend from these settlers, but that would have to be proven.

blue dots - places my relatives lived in or live currently.

green squares - places I used to live in for 5 months or more.

It's most likely one of two things

1. they were prods who settled in Northern Ireland

2. they were Catholics who settled in Glasgow.

that might give you a better idea.

My ancestry, or at least what little I know about it. The little bit in Iran is from my great-grandpa-on-my-father's-side. Other than that, the rest of my family was from Central India until the formation of Pakistan, where they all moved due to being Muslims.

LOLWUT? This was around 1800, how can your grandfather be that old? :p

Anyway, I'd add to the maps, but I don't honestly know exactly where my ancestors are from beyond what countries, and I'm not coloring in the whole of Northern Europe. :p

Here's my ancestral map

Red: I know I have ancestral background there

Yellow: Speculative (my grandmother claims to have Spanish royal blood (Ancestry.com told her), but I'm not totally sure about that)
