The best pat is the southeast US. I wonder if it was intentionally named as the English translation of al-Qaeda or just a generic reference to the Republican base.

I didn't even think of the Al Qaeda reference when I read that. Good catch!

This map is funny, but some things don't make sense. Casteñola? Namibia? Scotland? Northern Morocco!?

Anyway, I like the map. I'd do a "Europe According to Spaniards" map, but I'm too lazy to download gimp or another good software, and those maps are ridicoulous ugly with paint.

I think that "Scotland" refers to the tendency among Gallician nationalists to tout their "Celtic" heritage, which they express in the fine old Celtic tradition of playing their bagpipes at an unreasonably loud volume until given national self-determination or ham or whatever it is that we're supposed to want, I forget.

But Casteñola, Namibia and Northern Morocco,... it's hard to find them a sense.

I know that too. But despite Castilla-La Mancha being not much populated, it's not a desert. It's plains of fields and all that stuff.

It's an exaggerated stereotype of exaggerated stereotyping. I don't think that it's supposed to bear that close an examination.

It's just too exaggerate to me. And I should know. I'm a Spaniard after all. (More Catalan than Spaniard, true, but Spaniard after all)

Gabachos is a despective synonymous for French. Windshield cuz... stronger winds come from the Atlant- Cortés' Sea ;) ?

Bah, it's so much more than that, I don't believe that's the first thing that comes to mind.

As a Portuguese from Porto, Vigo is less than half the distance than Lisbon and even La Coruña is closer to us than the capital, so Galicia would be our "Hermanos". Cataluña is probably the second one we're the closest to because of the shared rivalries with the capital, Porto is to Lisbon almost what Barcelona is to Madrid (even though we don't hate the other half as much as you do :p) and FC Barça is to Real Madrid the same as FC Porto is to SL Benfica. Even though if it was a map I'd just write "Las Ramblas"

Does Porto have a really distinctive dialect or anything?

Yes, I'd say it's more distinctive than most dialects here. The most different dialects are probably the ones from the Azores and from Madeira when compared to the rest of the country, but even in continental Portugal, the dialect can be quite different from Porto (and pretty much the north part of the country) to Lisbon or to Alentejo. :p

It's also quite similar to Galician, I mean, I sure every Portuguese can understand Spanish very easily, but if you compare the Portuguese northern accent with Galician, they're very very similar. ;)

Of all the New Jersey stereotypes they could have used, they went with Sardines?

this is not the place to discuss such things!

Be a little clearer!

MrTrt, maps regarding games have their threads in the 'All Other Games'. Specifically, yours should be in Victoria 2.
