Its interesting to read of the world being dominated by 'super-staes' - the EU, USA, China, etc. (almost like something out of Orwell's '1984') but as far as I can see, it is going the OPPOSITE direction - we are seeing more fragmentation and regionalsim than ever before. Look what happened to the USSR, look what happened to Yugoslavia, Cechoslovakia, look at what could potentially happen in Canada (Quebec), Spain (Basque), look at the difficutlies India has with so many minority cultural groups. How long do you think the European-drawn borders of Africa will remain?

People now more than ever are finding their own culture and are determined to self-govern. The super-state quickly is becoming a thing of the past - although I do not know if this is a good thing or not.

You are rgiht, Magnus. However, all those people that want autonomy, can have a federal state right? They could oufcourse be a seperate state, but form a federation with other states, making the superstate possible.

WRONG. You need to break eggs before you make an omlette. Its all part of the process to build the US of E. Why they are breaking up is because they lack cohesion. After the break up, the invasion by MacDonalds, Disney and other elite American units begins in earnest.

p.s. many parts of Canada have already been occupied by the US of E, its just nobody noticed.

I think what you are referring to is the theory of capitalist feudalism, where traditional forms of government will be usurped by large multi-national corporations, who will eventually wield the real power. Individual people will become, in effect, serfs, tied to whatever particular company they are 'born into'. Sounds fun, doesn't it?
