AND SVN Build Thread

Hello,
I prepared xml files with polish tags, I tested it and there are no bugs in debug. I changed one python file because there are problems with decoding polish chars in acsii.

Can you merge this with mod on svn? : )

Files:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/andpl/files/A New Dawn SVN(rev687) PL v3.0.rar/download

Polish version of mod need to change GameFont.tga to proper show icons on city bar, it's possible to add logic to code: if lang = polish then use file GameFont_Polish.tga ?

Cherrs,
lordfistas

Thank you for your work lordfistas, I'll see what I can do; it should be possible to merge in your files. :)

Seeing as I lack SVN privileges (fair enough, this isn't my project anymore!) I have created a patch with some suggested changes:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...o-remove-unneeded-building-classes-and-.patch

You can apply patches with most SVN tools. It fixes some issues with creating and using Debug DLLs, turns on AI's purchasing wars, and decreases the likelihood of AI nagging you for free techs, wars, embargos. If you are friends with the AI, they will still nag you as before, but non-friends are 100x less likely to (but they still can). Also I tweaked the Makefile a bit, turning on RapidXML and cache consistency checks for the debug dll.

This patch does not include my suggested Tech Diffusion code, I assume you already merged that.

Why don't you have SVN privileges? I've certainly never changed that! And this is ALWAYS your project! I'll add the patch myself and the tech diffusion code into SVN probably tomorrow. If you can't access SVN anymore we need another solution. I'll start looking at GitHub.

Edit: I had a look at Sourceforge and you're still an admin of this project, so I can't understand why you don't have privileges.

Sourceforge had problems yesterday and the day before. It's back to normal today.

@Afforess,
Might want to try again today? Of course if you forgot your password.... and there was a url change too awhile back...had to do a "relocate" then.

Yes, I reset my pass. I'll try again later tonight when I am home.

I want to clarify this for a moment.

I might be the original founder, but you are the project lead for the project. Just because I was the founder does not make my opinions more correct, nor grant me special privileges here. I was once the project lead, but I willingly gave up that position. So don't let anyone tell you otherwise, YOU are the project lead. I knew what I was doing when I gave up my position.

You can tell me to shove off any time you want. ;)

:king:
Well, thank you Afforess for trusting me so much.
But I should be out of my mind to tell you to "shove off". That day, you can get your mod back.
I think I've done a good job in keeping the mod alive and updating it with (mostly) Koshling's changes imported from C2C, but you guys are definetely ahead of what I'll probably ever be in terms of programming. I know leading a project is not all about programming and I'll do my best as long as I'm in charge of this project but as its founder, you have special rights in my view. And since I'm the project lead, I also know what I'm saying. ;)

I would like to assume I'm not a SVN dummy, but I still am unable to commit with TortoiseSVN. It simply fails authorization. It never bothers to show me an auth dialog with user/pass. It doesn't get that far. Google-fu has been unhelpful, I have no previous svn settings in my user dir to even clear out. I didn't have TortoiseSVN even installed on this system until yesterday.

*sighs*

Edit:

I just remembered my ISP has been playing with and blocking port 22 (standard port for ssh traffic, which svn uses) traffic for me for a while. I set up proxies to get around it but it appears SVN does not like proxies. I am moving and will have a less awful ISP in May, but until then, I am unable to commit to SVN...

@Afforess,
Is this the url you use? If not try a relocate using this one.
https://svn.code.sf.net/p/anewdawn/code/Trunk/Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn

There is a 2nd url that is relatively new from Sourceforge associated with AND:
e.sf.net/p/anewdawn/code/Trunk/Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn

Not sure when this 2nd one came into being or if it's SF's new password url. Showed up in the properties tab a little while back.

If neither work then :dunno:.

That https url does seem to work. Beautiful. :)

Afforess, FYI we've agreed with Vokarya to update
\Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn\Assets\Python\Contrib\CvModName.py
with a progressive number each time we update the mod. When you update the dll there's a part of the code updating the rev number automatically but when updating xml files or python, it has to be changed manually in this file. :)

For accessing the repo, isn't it better to use the svn:// protocol instead of https ?

Ok. I'll remember that.

Probably.

Not since version 1.8.x (iirc) came out. I play 2 C2C pbem games with 8 other players from around the world and we use the SVN to get the savegame (SVN update)and to commit our save after our turn (along with a turn list). We went thru this process of relocating to the url I submitted (same procedure different repository). I think this was back in October. Prior to that we all used the svn://.

Revision 690

New Option in A New Dawn BUG Settings Menu
- AI Uses Flexible Difficulty

If selected, all AI players will also be under the influence of flexible difficulty. If AI scores are > 1 std deviation above the average score, they will have their difficulty increased. If AI scores are < 1 std deviation below the average score they will have their difficulty decreased.

When an AI has a difficulty change, and you have met them, it will appear in as a notice in the events. All known players are informed when any of their contacts has a difficulty adjustment.

There is detailed logging ANewDawn.log file regarding flexible difficulty. If anyone thinks it is not working as expected, they can check this log file in "My Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Logs"

Revision 691

  • Restore save compatibility with rev 688 and lower.
  • Better save incompatibility messages, for debugging save incompatability

rev692

  • New tech diffusion code by Afforess
  • Fixed MP Scoreboard (score isn't visible for other human players you haven't met yet)
  • Reduced number of available fusion nova, tactical fusion and plague bringer missiles
  • Preaching researcher event fixed (obsolete at Modern Physics)
  • More french translation

Tech diffusion might need tweaking, I'll try to find a better balance in some of the next revisions.
I haven't added polish translation yet, I plan to do it in the next revision.

Sorry guys, looks like there's a problem with the french translation causing some xml errors while starting the game; I'm going out now so I'll fix this when I get back home. I advise no to download rev692 for the moment.
